Attention all users:
Around 6:15 this evening, Smashboards was hacked by what looks like a legion of Ponies and Pegasi. It replaced /index.php with a static page stating that Smashboards was hacked with Friendship. We're not 100% sure of the intrusion mechanism, but we're fairly certain that it was done by Rainbow dash doing a Sonic Rainboom. (Either that, or it was Twilight who actually thought up a long and elaborate plan, but it looks like a quick Rainboom)
Smashboards.com parent company, Major Leagues Gaming, in house development studio Agora Games was quick to respond and took the following actions.
* Redeployed the Parasprite armmy
* Upgraded the anti-friendship cannons to be able to deal with this increased amount of friendship
* Permissioned THE GREAT AND POWERFULL TRIXIE to be on standby
Upon cleaning it up and performing our upgrade we have not seen any ponies since. We believe this threat to have been mitigated, but we will continue monitoring, just to be safe.
It also appears many sites across the net are also being taken over by bronies leading further credibility to the likelihood this having been an attack by ponies. We do not currently believe any user information to have been compromised nor was the attacked done with any malicious intent but will continue to investigate the situation. This thread will continue to be updated with any additional information.
