Job #01:

I reckon Donkey Kong Jr. would be fitting for something like this. Works well as an "arcade rep" for Nintendo's earlier forays into gaming, acts as a DK representative who wouldn't need to be a big-body like DK himself, and featured in a few Mario projects around this time like Super Mario Kart and Mario Tennis 64.

1. Wario - He's just a perfect fit, given he originated on this platform to begin with.
2. Samus - I think she'd be neat, and you could do tons of cool stuff with her.
3. Tatanga - Really creative submission, honestly. Unlikely, but I love the idea behind it.

Tetromino came genuinely really close to nabbing the third spot though!

Job #03:
Stage Name: Airship
Stage Origin: Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES, 1988)

A stage that I think feels both plausible, but also unique, compared to just the "grassy fields" stages that are often proposed. It's inspired by the Airship stages in SMB3, which was a massive deal for the Mario series. Whether or not you should have cannons firing cannonballs and Bullet Bills or Monty Moles popping up from the ground every so often is up to you, but I'd err against it.

Job #04: I'll go with Multi-Player Mode, which allows you to play multi-player matches by connecting a Link Cable to another Game Boy with the cart, or using a single cart in a SNES Game Boy Player to allow for two-player games there. Seems simplistic, but I think it'd be an essential component to a game like this that would still make it stand out from the pack for the time.

A gloriously retro representation of the original Super Mario Land. Complete with low detail pyramids and palm trees in the background. I'm just posting this picture as reference. I'm not saying the stage needs to have this exact layout. We'd probabaly want some more platforms and pits, but nothing super complex. Simplicity is key.

Stage Name: Toronbo Shores
Stage Origin: The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (1993)

I think this one could be pretty fun if done smartly. The stage itself would take inspiration from both Toronbo Shores and Mabe Village, featuring the coastal forest in the background as well as, of course, the Wind Fish's egg. In this case, I'd take less direct inspiration from the in-game appearance of both of them and more from the art - just to get the idea across rather than worrying about accuracy.
