Coin launcher was kinda easy... i had those trophies in no time... i'm more curious about if this is also going to be the trophy game for Wii U.
Sakurai, why no details? This is not something that has to be secret until launch or something...
I think its kind of like Tetris Escape. Dodge incoming block while grabbing goodies.
Tetris Blocks confirmed

Just a guess but it looks like you have to break wooden blocks to fill the meter at the top left to get a trophy and keep doing it until the time runs out.
As far as the wrench goes... I dunno. A heal, maybe?

On one hand, it's a huge improvement over the Coin Launcher. On the other, I'm having flashbacks from that one part of World 2-1 in Yoshi's Island. ._.

I have mixed feelings about this. I like coin launcher because it was fun, but sometimes they made it hard as bullocks to get rare trophies. Like, Lugia spawns
Me: I want it! *Starts shooting*
*Millions of enemies get in the way*

The slot machine in melee was just kind of boring, even though you were guaranteed to get a trophy with every turn of the slot. Hopefully Sakura combines the best of both worlds

So I guess as you combo/fill the bar you can get more trophies coming down. I wonder if there will be rarity system too.

Am I the only one who finds it suspicious that he chose to screen cap this shot right at 3:21:00? (Of course, the news revealed on that date was relatively uneventful, so conspiracy theory has already been shot down)

After looking at it for a while, I think I have an idea of what it can be.

- You will start on an empty, flat structure (like Final Destination).
- Soon, boxes will start falling. These boxes each contain a trophy.
- The shape of the trophy determines the shape of the box.
- Also, the rarity of the trophy determines the strength of the box (in the picture we can see both wood and stone boxes).
- Obviously, you need to break the boxes to get the trophy inside.
- BUT, you can't break anything above the blue line.
- You will also be able to get combos if you break multiple boxes at once.
- There will be a points system, but I'm not sure how that will help or one into play with anything else.

Maybe for those parts of it, combos increase points, and more points makes rarer trophies spawn. Maybe more stone boxes fall. It would make sense since it would also be harder to keep a combo with stone boxes since they are hard to destroy.

This looks way better than the minigame they had for brawl or melee! This game just gets better with every reveal!

what i'm wondering, is if this is 3ds only... so far these minigame sort of modes have only been revealed for the handheld... i have yet to see Wii U opposite to smashrun and the trophy game.

The Coin Launcher from the previous game had good ideas, but I think it would be great if it would return with new patterns and different things happening on the screen, in addition to this new trophy-collecting mode. Looking forward to this new mode!

I can only hope so. How the news is turning out makes me want to get the 3DS just for this. God I'm turning into a Nintendo nerd! Embarrass

But in all seriousness, this does look pretty neat. More interesting than the coin launcher, at least.

that's one thing for sure... it kinda looks like a Break-the-targets-stage at first sight...

I really really really hope they bring back Melee-style Target Tests. Brawl only had 5 where some characters excelled and some sucked at certain Target Test levels. Melee had a target test for each individual character that were specifically designed for that character. I spent (and still do spend) so much time trying to get the perfect Target Test times in Melee, but Brawl's just didn't really catch me.
