And so the tournaments over, it was fun, there were some intense matches but heres the results

So heres the deal, A new gaming lounge opened up in bend and, its pretty awesome, and of course holding smash Tournament on the 23'rd, heres some details.

Best part:
They decided to let Me and Yatta Dante to make them a set of rules to go by. It has most every rule used on the real tournament scene of smash bros. But is otherwise pretty noob friendly.

Rules:

1 v 1
Stocks: 4
Time Limit: 7 minutes-If time runs out, sudden death is played.
Damage Ratio: 1.0
Stage Selection: Random/Player can agree on stage
Pause: Off
Self Destructs: -1
Item Drop Rate: None/Off - Items are ONLY on if BOTH players agree to turn them on, if both players do not agree, then items remain completely off.

Available random select Stages:

• Yoshi's Island
• Fountain of Dreams-Dreamland
• Pokemon Stadium-Kanto
• Kongo Jungle-Past Stages
• Dream Land-Past Stages
• Final Destination
• Battle Field

Stages players can counter pick:

• Onnet
• Kongo Jungle
• Rainbow Cruise
• Mute City
• Green Greens
• Brinstar
• Princess Peaches Castle
• Poke Floats

Stages banned for stalling and other reasons:

• Hyrule Temple
• Venom
• Yoshi's Island(Past Stages)
• Icicle Mountain-Infinate Glacier
• Mushroom Kingdoom 2
• Flatzone
  

Note:
Players that dont use random select MUST AGREE on the stage they will fight at, if they cannot reach an agreement then they choose random.

Every match will be best of 3 Matches for the first divisions,

Semi finals- Also best of 3 Matches

Grand Finals- Best of 5 matches

How the seeding works:

Players will be seeded(Placed) into divisions A,B,C Ect. Winner of each division will be reseeded(Placed again) into the Semi finals bracket, leading up to the grand finals(Final matches).

Character Switching:
Allowed ONCE in between matches, Winner picks first and then loser can counter pick if he/she wishes to do so.

So far thats the set of rules were planning on presenting, which works well for all of the hardcore smashes going thus far (Ten or twelve), since both need to agree to stages or items. (You can bet everyone of them will say no items), same for stages, all the random select stages are neutral stages.

This is a place for the smash tournament scene to really take off in bend and the surrounding areas.

Your stage rules make no sense. Why are Mk2 and Corneria on fornrutral stages? What reasoning do you have for thinking PokeFloats is a stalling stage (and that Corneria isn't)? Why 7 minutes instead of 8?

I didn't make the stages but, MK2 shouldn't be on there, coneria however, this is meant to be a semi noob friendly tournament is believe it or not. The owners of this place had never heard of smash before I told them about it, in fact they didnt even know that wii had memory card slots or gc ports, let alone run gc games. thats why they're letting me and Yatta Dante run the tournament rule-wise, but at the same time, a lot of people who don't know smash competitively are coming, and I don't want them to feel pushed out by the rules.

As for poke floats, I can see it now, Two noobs go to poke floats and run around for 8 minutes strait. anyway, thats my reasoning, anyway, most of the neutral stages problem is fixed since players have to agree on a stage in this case, if its not randomly selected. After this venue in general is introduced to smash, after the tournament, thats when I can say. "Why is Corneria banned? STFU noob!" See what I mean?

Heck yes this will be a competetive tournament, its definetly NOT a smashfest, Its a full on tournament complete with prizes,(Cat 6 is handling that), I just wanted to"ease" cat6, into the smash tournament scene.

I know of seven people coming for sure, and Yatta dante know more that are coming than I do, plus the place is really popular, there will be a lot of people there.
