The dates are open in the cherry hill library (directions will be added later)and a tournament is completely possible (I did not have the funding for this before.) BUT THERES A CATCH! I need a guaranteed 35 participants of this tourney or it will become financially impossible for me.

as it stands I must rent a room for the entire day and need approximately 25 tvs (and cubes) so that a crowd of 50 will be able to play without anyone standing around.

There will be a 5$ house fee, however, this will be waived if you bring either a cube or a 20"(or larger) tv but if you could bring both it would be ideal. keep in mind I only need 25 tvs and about 20 cubes so if everyone who posts here could tell me if they can bring a cube/tv it would help me to get an idea of how many tvs I will have to rent

the rest of the fees will be as such*:
singles entry: 15$
Doubles entry 20$ per team

* these tourney fees may drop depending on the amount of cubes and tvs which are brought in as well as the number of people who attend

Winnings*:
1st place (singles) - $100
2nd place - $50
3rd place - $25

1st place (doubles) - $160
2nd place - $80
3rd place - $40

* I'm pretty set on these winnings but there is a slight chance that they may slightly reduce or increase. Again, its all based on attendance and tvs and cubes

Another possiblity for the winnings might be as such:
1st place - 20%
2nd place 10%
3rd place 5%

if all goes well this will not be the last tourney and it may even become monthly, I JUST NEED YOUR SUPPORT!!!!!!

Also, put me down for a cube.

By training do you mean you counter picking someone's character with someone who can chainthrow them, and than ninja pick FD so you can four stock them? Because so far, thats all the training I think I've ever received...

If its going to happen it will be in mid/late february

and m2k, I dont know if you're really a cocky ******* or not but alot of people probably are discourgaed from getting in contact with you and trying to playyou because you make yourself seem that way. And if you are the way you appear, then you seriously need to humble yourself because face it, its super smash bros. No ones taking it seriously, no ones idolizing you, they just play the game on weekedns and then go back to normal. I'm not trying to specifically to offend you, just saying you should have fun and mellow out. I think anyone who plays for ONLY money has lost sight of why they played the game in the first place.

also, I could make it a smaller tournament and only need 10 to 15 tvs but that dosent benefit anyone so anyone who can bring in tvs and cubes please do and even if you cant, just spread the word. If this works out it may become a monthly/bi-monthly

yeah WTF M2K stop picking FD only. I don't mind being CGed on like FoD but playing JUST FD is gay. Although you don't immediately switch your character to Sheik if she's the only who can CG.

No johns if you let him boss you around like that. He picks FD by habit anyway, and also usually wants to practice whenever he gets the chance to against people. Just say you want to go somewhere else, and if it doesn't register try tacking on a STFU before or after it.

lol yes, but it's so annoying accidentally going to Yoshi's Island when you had tried to pick Dreamland 64.

@Reik - It starts to get boring after an hour or so(only if he's someone he can CG me with)

@Reik: I like playing M2K on FD. He usually just plays random neutrals with me though as that's like my house rule unless we are specifically practicing something.

@Mew2King complainers: Playing Mew2King is the best high level practice you get can around here. Just remember that only getting high level practice won't make you better as fast as varying the level of your opponent between a close rival and then to a much higher level back and forth. Gives you time to really develop your style between getting dominated, while still letting you learn at a faster pace.

It's too bad that people aren't as willing to come to tournaments just because Mew2King is coming, but be serious... chances are you wouldn't win anyway. There is enough mid-level talent around to prevent you from having a shot at money. Just within reasonable travel distance from Cherry Hill there are around 10 above average players, 3 or 4 skilled players, plus M2K.

roflmao. I'm pretty sure Magus was joking when he said that 35 people aren't going to come anymore. I might come...depends on whether or not LK comes and I have the $ to enter.

I didn't mean what Magus said. It's not the first time I've heard of people not coming because some pro player would be coming though. Even if it's just a few, it's still sad.

The sooner you get a date, the more likely I will be able to participate. Especially if you give two weeks notice.

@ M2K: Come to my tournament instead if this lands on the same date. SSB64 is more fun anyways, lol. And we'll play some melee at my house if you plan on sleeping over. I got the Wiiiii too, lol.

well guys , looks like I lied, I was waiting to book a room until there was enough interest the rooms were booked up ( they go so **** fast) so its going to be mid/late march, possibly even early april :(

well, there is a positive, I have mroe to time to get money together and you guys have more time to spread the word. out of curiosity does anyone know where in our area besides the library might have the space and electricity to host something like this? the price tag for a day rate at the library for the right room is somewhere around 500$ (its not llike I dont have time now) however I might not need the day rate, hourly may be worth it. hdepending on how we progress could the singles and doubvle be done in 4 -5 hours?

that depends entirely on participants and number of tvs as well as how smooth the tourny ran / people play there matches , if the tourny isnt until march or april go for max amount of people you should be able to get atleast 40 people by then

I like playing m2k on fd i like playing ne body really except my crew i hate playing samus over samus over samus
