As you can see, a ladder on swf isn't needed since MLG is backing this site that handles a whole crapload of online games. Gears of War, Shadowrun, Halo etc all use this ladder site, it's very popular and probably will start a good competition for smashers to get ranked.

First off, I've been on Gamebattles for Halo, Gears of War, and Shadowrun. It's a great way to practice competitively because people take matches seriously. The matches are great practice for tournies.

Gamebattles is a site where you make clans and compete for ranking (It's a ladder >.>. Rank is based off Experience Points and you obviously get experience for beating a team. The higher the rank (if you win), the more XP you get.

Matches are found through the match finder where teams post up that they want a game. There's an organized list of teams wanting matches and you simply make out a challange to them. The losing team reports the match in the menu. There are Refs available if there are problems/cheating ect...

That's just the basics of Gamebattles, go to the site for more complete instructions/rules.

I'm sure they'll do a Teams ladder, I guess they could do a 1v1 ladder and just have multiple people in the team. But a Crew Battle ladder would be pretty sick. Keep in mind it's hosted by MLG so for people wondering about rules, I'm sure there won't be any items (sorry nubs).

To Deception: You must have an account made on GB in order to compete... however, I'm not sure (nor is anyone else) if there will be singles matches (although it would make sense).

I hope that helped.

i would think they'd have singles and teams, for gears they had 2v2 and 4v4 options, so they do have multiple modes for other games. also on gears of war you could have more than 4 people on a team, so conceivably, you can have a "clan" of 5-6 people, and whatever event be it teams or singles you would just have to have someone from your clan play. not sure how they'll do it, we'll have to wait and see

This is pretty cool, I wish it could be of use to me [I'm too far away, over 2500km]. I just might be able to play guys in florida.

Lol, Banks & thorn are noob posting in the brawl section. Just Kidding ;)

GB better make a 1v1 ladder for brawl. I hate how the site revolves around team games especially since brawl is a better 1v1 game than a 2v2. Clans are a dumb idea in my opinion.

I remember playing Socom2 and MGS subsistence with my old clan for gb. We were ranked 11# on socom 4v4+ ladder and 1st on subsistence 4v4+ ladder. :) Those were the days.

Anyway I like the whole format of GB but I remember that the mods that were picked sucked ***. They always took like 25 minutes to finally come in a room and all they did was make the other team ready up.

Maineacchusetts should make their own clan though. That would have to be the only clan I'd want to join.

I've created a team/clan actually. you have to go to the list of clans and click to be added to the ladder.

you cannot click the create teams button. won't work.

Clan name: FTW

Hey, so wait... Is this for online matches or matches played locally (Like at friend's house or something)?
