So I've been wondering about crews and there relevance to ssb4. I've been considering starting one with a friend of mine, but I need to know the basics and general/advanced information behind crews. What exactly ARE they? Why are they formed? What benefits come from being part of a crew?

TL;DR: Can someone explain crews to me?
