Smash Characters Classified by Pokemon Type

[Ravengeance]

I tried my best but would welcome feedback and opinions. I'm not super familiar with pokemon overall or some of the smash characters outside of smash. But I'm very familiar with smash. I used the Generation VI pokemon types and used my best judgement. The list is supposed to be what there type would be in Smash 4. I know some characters have attacks/moves of certain types in their respective games but those moves may not be in the smash series. Some were no brainers some took some thought and some wiki. One thing is that I made sword usage Steel type. Hope you enjoy. =)

Dedede is Normal in addition fo Dark because he isn't exactly evil but more selfish instead, and he doesn't looks really evil either.
Ike is part Ground because he has earth affiinity in the games he appears in.
Dr. Mario is Psychic because he's supposed to eliminate viruses, and Psychic is super effective against Poison.
Bowser Jr. is part Flying because of the Koopa Clown Car.

You definitely make some good points. I honestly don't know much about fire emblem outside of melee and brawl. I didn't want to make a ton of normal types so I classified swords as steel but I'm still unsure about that decision. The other thing that perplexed me was there is no magic type so I was never sure whether that should be dark (for dark magic), psychic, or fairy. I honestly have no idea what makes "fairy" type in pokemon.
I'm sure people with more in depth knowledge of the characters can do better job at this than I =)
The few things I'd say about your list is I don't understand why mario is fire but luigi is normal, I understand making falco flying bc i thought about that too but maybe fire/flying, But overall not a bad job at all. I'll prob change some of mine up now.

I just wanna say that being Ground makes fairly little sense considering he gets so many Flying-type moves. (Sonic Wind, anybody?) On the other hand, he is very ground-based and all about speed. Maybe he'd just be Normal-type.

Oh by the way, Olimar's typing could potentially include Bug, since he's so incredibly tiny in-canon.

Aside from that, other people have good ideas so far. Except for the guy who labelled as Psychic/Dark. lol.

Edit: Actually they made Psychic/Dark, not Lucario. Though that's still pretty fail.

Sonic I've had as Normal, Ground, and Normal/Ground. I'm unfamiliar with sonic wind. He doesn't attack with much himself. It's all about the pikmin. So he plants the pikmin like a flower (grass type) but they run around like insects (bug type). Maybe pikmin are a grass bug hybrid.

Actually, the move Rollout is a Rock-type move. As for wind-based moves in Sonic games, there's Sonic Wind, Blue Tornado, and an un-named Sonic Wind knockoff in Sonic Rush. Also, his Homing Attack would probably be best represented by Aerial Ace.

I had no idea rollout was a rock-type move. Jigglypuff has rollout and is still a normal type (now normal/fairy) so maybe sonic should be normal. I don't know enough about pokemon moves sadly. I'm kinda trying to base the smash characters 4 special moves and classify them by that since in pokemon games they only had 4 moves.
