Hello Everyone,

I have here a smash bros fan game that I have been working on for the last little while. I assume that this would be a good area to post this topic, but I could be wrong.

I started working on this project last year, and it has been slowly developing ever since. The programing language is Game Maker 8. I figured that people here on the "largest Smash bros community" would be a good group to get the opinions of.

As you can see from the screen shots some of the graphics are not the best. They will be updated in time. The main focus of development has been the functionality of the engine. I am hoping that if you try the demo you will come back and post your opinions and comments wither good or bad. It has taken a lot of work to get it this far, and your feedback can help me develop the game further. Thanks

The download is located at ZFGC (Zelda fan game central) here is a link to my page there:

Current Features of the game:
-Working slopes
-Shields
-Edge Grabbing
-1-4 Players
-1-9 difficulty levels
-Modifiable game play
-AI (CPU)
-Selectable Teams
-3 Levels to pick from
-Smooth game play
-Items (only four right now, but more to come)
-Full directional attacks and smashes
-And more

Here are some screen shots:

-4-Player AI Battling it out

-Shields and Bombs

Thanks for looking!

Looks awesome, coming along nicely.

You got both my favourite stages in SSB64, kudos. ^_^

You know what would be interesting for a smash bros-fan game? (Which I thought of by looking at those pics?)

Turn it into a 2-D NES-esque game, complete with chipset themes.

That would be pretty different and neat at the same time.

Well it seems that the light house is a better location for this topic... my mistake.

Yeah, those levels were my favorite as well. That is why I put them in first!

NES based could be interesting, but there is actually already a NES based smash bros fan game out there, doing it that way would certainly make developing the game easier as far as graphics are concerned, but I already have some other graphics lined up. Right now there is only one character (Link) and his graphics are just place holders. It is still pretty fun though...

Further developments will focus on making more characters, stages, and items. This isn't intended to be a straight remake, so I plane on adding my own stages and some characters too.

I would be really interested in what people think of the game play, and functionality. if you get a chance to try it let me know. Also opinions, and suggestions about the AI would help. Thanks

Has anyone here tried this yet? All you have to do is download unzip and click. No really though. It works pretty well I just need people to try it, especially to find any glitches. The game is windows based and as far as I know should work on Vista or XP,and probably systems before that. Your time and comments would be appreciated.

Sorry dude, but I think This Fan Game already beat you to the punch.
I looked at your fan game and it does look very good. Much better that any other smash fan gam I've seen out there. Mine also works very well comparatively though not quite as far in development. Still the same, there is no reason there can't be two fan games.

And there can't be more than one smash bros fan game because...
agreed!
