Smash Artist Recognition

Who thinks this is a good idea? The writers have orange, the admins have red, the directors have blue. So how about our fellow artists? We contribute much of our time to the samsh community wether it be sigs or tournament flyers. We make graphics for some smash team sites and design tournament logos n shirts (like im doing for InnV for prince zane)

point is if a director holds the tourney and gets that wondorous blue text , i dont think its a farfetched concept for the artists to get a white colored text. The white stands for the empty canvas we artists start out with till we mend and mold and modify to create what many would call "art".

Ofcourse though one would have to go throgh the proper members to decide wether or not they are deserving of such text and if they really do contribute time above and beyond the expected and truly are a part of the graphic smash community.

So yeah what does eveyrone think of this idea?

Thing is, said writers have nothing to really do with the actual smash community. They're writers. I'd like to see this group, really, but it'd have to be judged artistic merits. Plus, I have a feeling you're only thinking of banner designers.

It could work. Maybe. Depends on the participation.

I'm not veiwing this as banner recognition. This idea is in refernce to the active members of the artowkrs emporium. I my self never knew about the poolroom prior to today due to spending most of my time there . There are a multitude of artists there from pencil art to banners. This is no means a way to identify a said banner deisgner , but rather identify active artists

But seriously, there is an art contest in the works right now, we could consider the option of a new usergroup for winners or something. But I can't guarantee anything.

Doesn't seem like a bad idea. It needs to be really exclusive and reserved for the best-- just like the writer's group.

yah thats very true. but this should've been implemented long b4 the colored name got dense.

heck theres a whole section devoted to artist of all mediums (artwork emporium)

But how is anyone to know who's the best? I don't know, I wish I could say the idea will work, but I think it's just a wwyp wannabe sorta deal. Nothing can compare to the original wwyp... but if it does go through, I'd like to do some artwork for it. I'd have to dust off my old art supplies...

Artists deserve their own title and color. They're just as important to SWF as the writers...except, the writer's posts are occasionally unreadable, partially because of my intelligence level and partially because of their intelligence level.

If we do ever have an artist group, you can be sure that making banners will not be enough to get into it.

And besides, we have a Pokemon section too, why can't we have a Pokemon user group? And an F-Zero one?

We should have a Rubbish Bin usergroup. Ignore the Rules With Your Power.

There will probably be some sort of usergroup recognition for artists when (if) a contest happens. We will come to the best decision. We are legion.
