It seems like every Smash game has something that people perpetuate as fact, when in reality it's not, or likely not, but we'll never get a definitive answer because Sakurai doesn't discuss cut content...

64: There are still people that perpetuate that Meowth, Pit, and Peach were planned, when there's no evidence.
Melee: Less common, but replace the above with "Wolf was planned for Melee" or that Dedede was dropped for the six clones.
Brawl: Pra_Mai. Just...Pra_Mai. It definitely wasn't Plusle and Minun or (lol) the Random Box, but we still need closure.
Wii U/3DS: People who think that the entirety of Gematsu's Leak was made up because of Chrom and the Chorus Kids when it seems like it was just clearly outdated. Outdated =/= Made Up.

If only Sakurai wasn't so tight-lipped about cut content...

That was only half fabricated though. Yuji Naka admitted in an interview that he originally asked Sakurai to put Sonic in melee, but the game was too far into development.

I don't know how Sonic could have played like in Melee. They got it with Brawl despite the annoying voice (imo), and in 3DS/Wii U they made him even better.
Project M has his FAir doing the aerial kick from Sonic Battle. Why can't he have that?

There were a buncha hidden content conspiracies a few years after Melee was released. When I was 11 years old, a friend told me there was a hidden stage in Melee called "Dragon Temple" from a Fire Emblem game that's unlocked by clearing All Star on hard or higher difficulty without continuing as either Marth or Roy.

My friend told me a...pretty intricate one, back in the day.

Ludicolo could "learn a special move in Emerald" called "Sadness Dance."

Basically, level up Ludicolo to Level 99 and give it a Red Scarf. Level it up again (or trade it, I forget which) and it will learn Sadness Dance, which basically was a Water move with Hyper Beam's power, but without the recharge time.



At least my friend got creative/heard it from a creative person.

When I first heard about the new Pokemon in Ruby and Sapphire, I thought that Ninjask (Ruby) and Shedinja (Sapphire) were version-exclusive evolutions.
