Man, I thought it was just nostalgia, but the GBA Kirby's actually play really smoothly and fluidly and are a treat to watch as well. Having just played Amazing Mirror's intro 4 or 5 times for effect, it's still enjoyable today. No wonder it's my favorite Kirby game!

I'm interested in your thoughts of the game for this playthrough. Especially how you think it compares to Paper Mario as I think that'd be an interesting comparison.

That's like trying to compare Chrono trigger to Paper Mario.....there's not much similar because their philosophies differs a lot and that's fine.

I think the reason Peach lets Bowser kidnap her is because she knows Mario will rescue her and in turn decimate Bowser's Empire. It's an excuse for war and expansion.

Speaking of fighting games, I jumped back into Street Fighter 4 after a long hiatus away from online competitive play. I had an itch to play some good SF matches after watching USF4 matches on Youtube.

Indeed, they're very different games, and as you've said, their philosophies differ. But their separate philosophies and execution can be compared in terms of their effort and whether they're (subjectively) enjoyable, no? What I mean is, Paper Mario takes a different approach than Golden Sun in some aspects, but I'm interested to see whether someone who has a fondness for the Paper Mario approach would appreciate the other ones. Paper Mario for example, excels in humor in comparison to Golden Sun, but (for argument's sake) the gameplay of Golden Sun is better and makes up for it, see? I've compared the two.

But the only reason this isn't incomparable is mostly because they follow the same template of being an RPG. So there's towns, NPC's, overworlds(sort of in Paper Mario), separate battles, movement within the world, and other RPG tropes which can be directly compared.
