Eh, I saw an episode or two a while back. And it's all right I guess, but personally I never got into it.

I'm in the same boat as you. I liked it. Thought it was pretty good for a show based on selling merchandise. Decently written and does teach actual morals on friendship and whatever else. If I had kids, I wouldn't mind them watching this.

I don't understand the obsession, though, or how the fanbase came about. I don't think I could respect myself if I started buying merchandise of a show originally aimed at young girls.

And yet strangely enough, I became obsessed with a show like Steven Universe. Except this show was crafted for both male and females to enjoy.

cross over = that. It's basically like smash bros, you put totally incompatible stuff together and it fits.

parody = you replicate something in the goal of exagerating the reality so much that it's ridiculous and funny. Like, i know it's computer stuff, but it's funny:

My programming teacher showed us a parody of Windows. This was a warning message saying "your mouse moved, Windows needs to restat to apply this change"

Seriously, IT'S SO FREAKING CLEVER!

This nails i in more details for me why I wasn't as big a fan either.

I see why it is good, I just can't dig that much into it.

Unlike One Piece where I have a burning seething hatred for that anime, I see why this is good and I kind of like it. I just can't label myself a fan of it.

Until recently when I learned that one episode wasn't really a representation of the whole series and I now love the series overall

I don't think it was exageration honestly. It's just an universe in another style not compatible, but abstracted to be compatible.

And it's not really dumb. Windows has a very annoying tendancy to actually requires a lot of restarts. That's a joke here and unless you never were bothered by it, from someone who was A LOT, I found it hilarious

It's one of those shows that starts off slow (but good). It isn't until about episode 12 (Giant Woman) til it started to get better and develop its own qualities and characters that you don't often see in other shows. And it isn't until episodes 25-26 (Mirror Gem and Ocean Gem) when it begins to unravel an overarching plot.

I only though the show was okay at first, too. But it grew on me, and became something I can't stop thinking about everyday.

That's what they said when I told the MLP fan base that I saw the CMC episode and they were like "there's better eps." I didn't see anything good past season 2 so. They were wrong.

I'd say start from the beginning like any TV show.

If you want a better episode to give you a better taste/understand of what the show's about, I'd try one of these:

• Episode 16 - Steven the Sword Fighter
• Episode 12 - Giant Woman
• Episode 22 - Steven and the Stevens
• Episode 2 - Laser Light Cannon

Not saying Gravity Falls is better or worse, but I'd give SU another shot if I were you.
