About the TV stuff from earlier, the quality is better than it has been from the past couple of years. Some shows in the mid 2000's and on were pretty bad without much better stuff around.

Nowadays it's a lot better overall for animated shows.

I'd say the same for non animated as well.

This is why Nintendo feels like a hit and miss company sometimes.
The hits obviously beat the misses, but the misses are becoming more constant and serious; like the Youtube stuff you said

I wouldn't give the 2005-2009 much of a good name though. That is when I think quality of TV in general just dropped hard.

After checking in my mind you're right; but in my case I had a delayed effect because stuff air in Latin America at least a year later than in the US, so I got the "quality plunge" in 2008 and reached it's worst in 2012

Unfinished is how I define modern SpongeBob tho; I feel that the episodes feel empty and they have abrupt endings most of the time.
