Well, I've decided to start on the first episode in the anime. And it gets RIGHT into it. Thank goodness I chose the novel first. I wouldn't be able to keep up with all these characters.

Fifth gen was overall my least favorite gen

It had some great pokemon

But the starters were just horrible. Especially Snivy

After gen IV's pretty versatile starters, Torterra even having access to powerful rock and ground attacks

Snivy being limited to normal and plant attacks made the play through really suck

It's just those blood(?) stains on the face. Otherwise it would have more cute than creepy.

Well, I've decided to start on the first episode in the anime. And it gets RIGHT into it. Thank goodness I chose the novel first. I wouldn't be able to keep up with all these characters.

See, that is why the anime is only good episodes 2-5. It gives you almost no buildup or introduction. But after 5 it is best tk go back to the novel for EP2 and beyond.

Well, if it wasn't for the ending in the first episode, I doubt anyone would get hooked on the anime. I'm definitely gonna read through those 10+ chapters the anime skims over whenever I get the chance.
Also, the English sub is kinda inaccurate.
