I think OC's are pretty cool when done right. Otherwise they're (quite literally) copy and paste and recolors, and THOSE are the bad ones everyone refers to.

Ready for a story? Rambling might be involved, but whatever.

I sold my N64 about 4 years ago. I beat all the games I had in my library (26 games. The 2 Zeldas, DK64, MegaMan Legends, Goldeneye, Space Invaders, Super Smash Bros, Iggy's Reckin Balls, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2, and Rocket. The rest I don't remember), and I thought about keeping the N64. Then I thought "there's no way I'll be able to take care of it for even 20 years into the future" and if I felt like replaying some old classics, just use an emulator. The N64's replay value was getting stale, mostly because after I 100% SM64, The 2 Zeldas, and Super Smash Bros, I had little desire to beat the other games. After forcing myself to 100% Rocket: Robot on Wheels, I decided I was done with the N64 and put it up at my family's garage sale.

Of course, this was all before I discovered speedrunning was a thing 2 years ago. I was astounded that many of the tricks and glitches I was messing around with and failing to do in the Zeldas and DK64 were used to beat games super fast. Now I slightly regret selling my N64. There's no way I would be able to take care of my N64 long enough for it to sell millions on eBay because I had nothing that would prevent it from collecting dust or getting damaged. Plus, I could always play them on the Wii Virtual Console or an emulator. This is why I don't have high regrets for selling my N64.

I'd like to think I'm a nostalgic person, but when it comes to games, I like looking for ones I'd really enjoy playing casually and/or competitively (that includes speedrunning), especially the ones with lots of content. That's why I look forward to games like the Batman Arkham series, Legend of Zelda series, and story-based ones like Phoenix Wright or Fire Emblem. I don't mind playing old games I haven't played before (and I stumble upon classics I really enjoy), but I don't find a whole lot of replay value in them since most of them don't have a whole lot of content. I'll get a real kicker out of modern day classics since I'll be playing them A LOT, but classics on the N64 (and other old consoles)? They've had their time to shine. They'll be around, but they aren't going to be the next big thing anymore.

Moral of the story: Nostalgia for old games isn't as high as people make them out to be. Well for me, anyways.


Tl;dr - N64 lost replay value, so I sold it. Discovered speedrunning a while later, so I kinda regretted selling it but not really. I don't have a strong nostalgia for old games, but these modern ones? I probably will.

Something about the main principle of capitalism rubs me off the wrong way. I don't like how the world has become too dependent on money.

Of course, like any ideology, it does have its merits, but it also has its flaws.

And hey, I can like characters whose ideologies differ from mine, can't I? I mean, a lot of my favorite characters have questionable, if not downright evil, ideologies, so...

As you can see, he looks like Action Hank in yellow.

Even though I'm not fully happy with his walking frame, it's not too major as last time. I'm debating whether or not to make a Burger Buzz skin to go with Soda Woody or just make Mrs. Nesbitt. I don't feel like both.
