Nintendo's handling of the amiibo situation turned me off from purchasing more. You walk into a Best Buy hoping to get lucky with a amiibo only to glance at the Skylander and Disney Infinity sections that are stacked with multiple figures for each game/version. The exclusive figures are not major characters that would limit completing the whole roster. There is so much more I could dive into but the whole situation is pretty underwhelming.

This has to be my only strong opinion against the company. The idea was good in theory until supply did not meet the colossal demand from fans and collectors alike.

Basically this for me. Also kind of why I don't plan on buying Zero Suit Samus, Sheik, or Toon Link. I'd rather not buy little statues of characters I already have statues of. Even though I haven't picked up Zelda or Samus yet, but still.

My current collection is:

Essentially I'm only buying characters who I see as

A) REALLY important characters as a whole
B) Personal favorites, or ones I have personal attachment to
C) Third Parties, since they're special in my eyes (though all of them fall under A anyway)

Like, basically nothing I'd consider filler or TOO out of the way to get that it undermines their importance.

I'm just glad I snapped up a Samus amiibo quickly.

Samus is actually really common where I live.

I haven't been interested in amiibo in awhile, though. I might pick up Lucas, Roy, Ryu and Mewtwo if I can find them (And not have to pay a buttload for them...I know, funny thought, right?), but I've lost interest until Nintendo learns how to stock these things.

@ Jason the Yoshi You're never too old to enjoy Pokemon. Same with the Lavender Town theme.

I go to a pretty rigorous university, am nineteen, and took an extra job at the school newspaper and more shifts in a food service gig, and I still have time for Pokemon.

Meh. People should be able to play whatever they want. That being said, I do find older people (30+) playing Pokémon as a weird thing, but maybe that's just my opinion. The franchise isn't really made for me. I suck at every single main series game, too.
