Board game mode? So possible kind of chess, right? Chess and TBS are close. :4marth::4myfriends::4robinm::4lucina: OP. Samurai, please nerf.

I'm so sorry...

It's so annoying doing a 5-minute run for a final battle where stats hardly even matter. Or having, like, triple your opponents run/jump stats and all being worse off.
It does help however that most of the CPUs tend to be idiots when running.

@ Naoshi Naoshi I wasn't referring to alt costumes like that.
I meant actual independent clones (Lucina, Dr.Mario) being free downloadable content.
Ah, it was directed towards anyone actually. Some people mentioned alt costumes so I kind of wanted to say my opinion about them. Sorry for the confusion :)

Could that mean that the event modes are that POTD screenshots?

Damn it looks like they might be Melee level event matches. A lot of Melee event matches were a pain in the ***.

So yeah, Stage Builder and Board Game (?) modes confirmed for Smash WiiU.

Also Master and Crazy Hand modes are some sort of challange modes, probably a replacement for Event Matches (Master Im guessing will be technical challanges, and Crazy being just all sorts of random stuff that fits the name, kinda like For Fun and For Glory of offline modes)

I loved Melee's Event Matches. They were really memorable, creative and very challenging. There's only few Event Matches that were too annoying but overall Melee provided a lot of great ones.

Is it me or did Brawl's Event Matches sort of felt kind of... just there? I didn't feel they were really memorable.

I kind of tend to forget that Brawl even had them.

It thought some of them were just BS.

I mean, Event Match where I have to fight 3 Metal Samuses, with 3 stock each, where I only have 1 stock, on BRINSTAR DEPTHS NO LESS? Talk about 1 sided.

At least Zael is a trophy. He was a character that would have actually made me super excited to see as playable in this game if only because The Last Story is awesome.

The only Event Matches from Brawl I can remember are the final against Giant Mario and the third parties and the Wolf vs. Fox & Falco one. But I can't remember the rest at all.
Melee's Event Matches were already getting hard after you reached Event Match 20. Gargantuans, Peach's Peril, Triforce Gathering, the fight against invisible Fox & Falco. I still cry everytime.

Yeah, Melee's actually had a lot of effort put into the Event Mode. Brawl's was just kind of...there.
I remember Events being a huge part of Melee. There were a lot of cool ones.
Triforce Gathering, Dark Link Duel, The Showdown...

That one was tough, but it was actually pretty doable if you take advantage of the rotating platforms. It just requires a lot of thinking and strategy there.

The Metal Samuses has 2 stocks each and their CPU level is pretty low. It's not too harsh.

And the matches where you fight on top of giant trophies, the Super Mario 128 event match, Pokeball matches, etc etc

Brawl's Event Matches felt so last minute and lazy... like there wasn't enough care put into them. :(

Yeah, I haven't plqyed Melee in a while you can tell.

There really is no strategy for Pikachu and Pichu though. That's just pure luck.

That was one of the easy ones.

The only even matches in Melee I had trouble with were the last 2. I actually needed someone else to complete the very last one for me xD.

OH GOD

THAT ONE

What were they thinking when they made that match? That was... extremely annoying. I've tried it 20 times and I still can't get anywhere with it. :(

I think I beat that one because of Whispy Woods blowing both Pichus far enough from the stage. Or Legendary Pokémon, where you are getting assbanged by Wire Frames and the only way to kill them is via Pokéballs, but there's a Jigglypuff working for them stealing the balls.

What is the "Pikachu and Pichu" challenge? I haven't played Melee in a long time.
It's the one where you have to beat two Pichus but they are being protected by a level 30 CPU Pikachu who keeps respawning when you KO it.

And Pokémon did this for Halloween:

Bretty kewl.

I loved the trophy matches. They were hilarious because there would always...ALWAYS have one CPU camping at the side of the stage.

The Super Mario 128 one is hilarious with Bowser.

One of the most infamous Event matches in the game.

You play on Dream Land from 64, and have to face against 2 Pichus and a Pikachu. The Pikachu is ruthless, and chases you throughout the entire stage. And when you KO it, it immediately respawns. You have to go after the two little cowardly Pichus who run away from you and constantly spam Lightning attacks. You have to pray to God himself in order to win.

:4greninja:'D.

Hardest Event in Melee: Time For A Goddamn Check-Up.
Runner-up: Pikachu and Pichu.
Is that the one where you fight Dr. Mario and Peach? I remember how I beat that one...
By ragequitting, putting down my controller, and watching the CPUs kill themselves.
Playing as Luigi no less.

Oh yea, today's picture of the day has a mode that lets you play around with Trophies..... you know what that means dont you....

SHADOW WILL RETURN

Also I hope Board Game mode is more like Mario Party and less like Fortune Street. I swear to God if its Fortune Street I will murder people, I had enough of being forced into that **** in Birth by Sleep and if any important unlock is tied to it I WILL TRACK SAKURAI DOWN AND MAKE HIM PAY FOR HIS CRIMES AGANTS HUMANITY!

.....see right there? Already warming up to the right mindset for edgy fanfiction.

Very edgy

Smashboards fanfic pls
Dromader: Naoshi, you killed my parents and put my brother into a coma, now you must die, and then I can mourn in peace.
(Dromader uses his dark powers to power up)
Naoshi: No Dromader, you must die. I killed your parents because they knew about my dark secret past, and now I must kill you because you know now that I used my powers of darkness to write edgy posts on the internet, which made me kill everyone. Prepare to die.
(Naoshi uses his dark powers of edgy darkness to power up)

Did I do it?
This has to be the dumbest thing I've ever written in my life.

I don't know what's wrong with me lately. I used to be able to deal with anything that was thrown at me, but now I can't even land one damn hit anymore. All of my FG matches in the past week have ended in me SD-ing because I know I've been beat after three minutes of fighting and getting nothing accomplished except racking up my own damage meter. All of them.

I don't want to be good anymore. I just want to not be utterly and thoroughly humiliated every time I play. Is that too much to ask?

Its funny how few days after I rant about Trophies being pointless Sakurai confirms a mode that uses Trophies. Lol
Trophies are awesome. I really love the descriptions for the trophies in Smash 3ds.
"Be very crateful (Around exploding crates)"(Crates)
"Pretty fly for a shy guy"(Fly guy)
"Onyx"(Snivy)
"Wanna be the very best"(Pokemon trainers)
"Lets her morph into a ball instead of having to crawl!"(Varia suit)
"A pretty fowl tactic" (Cuckoos)
"Shockingly high speed" (Phosphora)
"Did I mention he's gross?" (Wario)
