The original, haven't seen Brotherhood yet, I prefer to see the original, as I want to understand the first story before going to the next. I'm going to watch that next soon.

Wasn't expecting Hoopa to get a Mega, though if you at the artwork in the recent Corocoro you can see that it'll have something to do with the extra legendary appearing in Hoenn. Though I did notice that it's stat buffs only add up to 80, not 100.
If you watch One Piece I suggest you be patient. It takes a bit of time for the action and story to really start.
There is no "first story". Brotherhood is the actual story. The first anime was the typical "the manga hasn't gone far enough, so we're gonna make up a different story for the rest of the anime".
People can do whatever they want so long as they don't harm anyone else in a significant manner. They haven't.
A lot of shows tend to have slow starts, I do try to patient when trying new ones because of that.

The original is still well directed.
You really have to be patient throughout. It seems every time the characters take two steps forward their sent thirty steps back. Although it does make for really exciting conclusions and it kept me going "Just one more episode".
The hell it was. The first anime was atrociously written. It's movie only proves that further.The original is still well directed.
I'll find out if Brotherhood is better soon.

I personally found the relationship between the Elric brothers pretty strong, and I liked most of the characters and their voice when I first saw and heard it. I don't see how it's atrociously written (even if it doesn't copy the manga), they did a good job.
