Might as well throw my two cents for Pokemon I guess.

The closest thing to major changes in the formula would be Pokemon Colosseum and XD: Gale of Darkness. With most battles being double battles. A larger focus to catch Pokemon rather than beat Gym leaders. The Purification system. And having Eevee as your starter. They aren't main titles, but are the only games to have enough depth to stand side to side with them as a traditional RPG. And they can still be played with the newest games at the time.

Aside from that most of the other games just try to one up the previous ones. New types in Gen 2, Double Battles in Gen 3, the Physical and Special split in Gen 4, Triple and Rotation Battles in Gen 5. Obviously Mega Evolutions and another new type for Gen 6.

I don't doubt these new game will be good. I just think that they should change up the structure of the games a bit. Mechanically, the games are fine. They add worthwhile features and new moves are usually well implemented. Many of the gameplay staples are still good too. But even slight alterations on the story beats would be great.

Like I am thinking about buying the game and then do it because I really like that glitch. It's just fascinating the reasons it happened and the effects are so know, but they still surprises me. It's just a constant reminder that programs are just logic put together and that if there's flaws, it can be observed

The only worthy thing to me was transferring the Virtual Console Pokemon from Red and Blue into the Pokemon Bank. Assuming the game is kept the same, we can expect some unique move-sets from this. Still not sure if I'm gonna get them, but it does open up some ideas for the Pokemon themselves. Who knows how broken/garbage their special stats will be though.

When's the last time Charizard had Body Slam, for example?

After two years when the petition for localizing Pokemon in Chinese. They finally give out Chinese version. And I bet you guys wonder what's the difference between these two versions. I can only say I use the traditional Chinese system.
And there's a special Chinese video! He even speak Taiwanese (A different Chinese dialect)!

My point is, the translation is a new translation. I personally don't like it. It will take another 20 years for the entire Chinese community to get used to this title.
I mean... if I say this to my Taiwan friend, they will be confused and thought what game is this...etc...

Anyways, I looked at some of the moves Pokemon could learn in RBY, and there isn't really anything at all useful that any of them can learn that's unobtainable.
