This is quite..alarming. There is nothing wrong with having an active thread, but there are problems arising from this thread daily it seems and it's not easy on our staff. A social thread which has lax moderation should not be causing this many problems. This thread is being treated as a chat room, and that's not really acceptable. I'm not going to go through and infract a bunch of people, because that would be pointless for what I'm trying to accomplish. Talks of closing this thread, moving it, or doing SOMETHING with it have been happening between the staff. I don't like to see established communities broken up so I thought to try this approach first. I personally don't see social threads and social talk as a big issue which is why I haven't touched on this for so long, but after looking over this thread a bit it's clear there is a problem. The quality of posts HAS to go up for this thread to stay alive. If you guys enjoy this community and want to keep it alive you need to work with me to improve this thread. I can't do it alone, and it's hard on our staff so it would be nice if you held each other accountable as well. The mentality of +1 posts, and constantly increasing your postcount with mindless posts has to stop. It has to be eliminated. Posts like "I like your username" could just be posted on a user's wall, they don't need to be in this thread. "Hello" can also just be PM'd to a user or posted on their wall. If you have nothing of substance to say, then don't post anything.

I have no problem with you socializing with each other. That is the point of this thread. It's nice to see communities bond and discuss similar things of interest with each other. This thread is drowning in spam and +1 posts however, and you guys really need to increase the quality of posting for this community to stay alive. This isn't about being right, or forcing people to obey rules to a tee, or anything like that. I'm genuinely concerned.

I'm going to close this thread for up to 24 hours to give people time to read this post. I would like everyone to read the first post in this thread again as well. I'm sure you guys/girls are a great community, and I'd like to see that out of you. I'm being very transparent with you guys, and I hope you will be the same with me with your posts after I re-open this thread. I'm going to be watching this thread after I open it, and having several moderators keep an eye on it as well to see if the quality of posting has improved at all. Hopefully we can all solve this issue together and everyone can benefit from it.
