Smash 3DS Smash 3DS comes out on Sept 13 in Japan, but when will Japanese Gaming Media Outlets get copies?

I really wish that Smash would release simultaneously in all regions like X&Y did. Not just because I'm like

But because also for spoiler reasons. Unless they pull an MK8 and just spoil all the things themselves.

They're not spoiling everything, but I think there won't be big surprises. I mean the biggest surprises post launch imho could be Dixie Kong and Mewtwo as unlockables. But they won't keep characters like Ridley or King K. Rool secret.

Great games have NDAs on reviews as well.

I don't think I've seen many good games have an embargo after it's released. Before, of course, but not after.

The whole roster will BE KNOWN with the release of the 3DS version. For those of you saying that Sakurai will slowly reveal characters up until the Wii U release and those revealed characters as free DLC would never happen. It would be unfair to those consumers who may not have an internet connection, and they can't be cheated out of their product.

Also, on a side note, I remember some gaming outlets like GameXplain getting Mario Kart 8 up to a month earlier, so 2 weeks before release for such a high profile title to be reviewed isn't so far-fetched. Who remembers how all those new pokemon in we revealed in the week to two weeks leading up to the launch of Pokemon X & Y?

Andre Even said he will be streaming Smash 3DS I'd assume media outlets would get the game around September 1st/2nd so we should know the full roster by then if Sakurai keeps any characters secret

I can't say I believe that the whole roster will be revealed before the game comes out in Japan (unless it's a lot smaller than expected, which I should hope not), though I'd probably prefer it that way.

I do imagine that legitimate leaks will start popping up from people with review copies or such around the first of the month. However, like X & Y, I imagine that'll be strongly breaching some NDAs. Of course, there's no way we won't know everything within a couple of days after the release.

I seriously don't want to learn more about the 3DS Smash until I have it in my hands, we already know too much.

Brawl ended up being kinda dissapointing roster-wise because of how much they revealed, I feel like this game is going in the same direction.

If they absolutely must reveal more info, I just want to learn about WiiU exclusive game modes and ****, we know far more than necesary about the 3DS version.

I really don't get people who cares about spoilers in a fighting game. I personally want to know more stuff as soon as possible.

Anyways, I really doubt Nintendo is going to reveal everything about the game prior the release to avoid non-Japanese people getting spoiled. I think we might get one or two newcomer reveals in the following twenty eight days, but that is about it. Another Smash Direct? I don't expect it to happen until the Wii U version is close to be released. While I doubt the Wii U version will be rich in content (various different modes and stuff) as the 3DS version, it most likely have some big exclusive mode like Smash Run, so a Smash Direct is needed to showcase it and a few other extra things that version might have. What I can see happening is a newcomer reveal in a (general) Nintendo Direct and another newcomer reveal one or two days before the release.

It would be unfair to the people buying only the 3DS version also. We shouldn't be prejudiced simply because Nintendo decided to release the Wii U version after the 3DS version. We are paying for the game, so we deserve to have all characters in the game in the release date, without the need for DLC shenanigans. The people who are going to buy the Wii U version only have to deal with this.

It is pretty odd how the authorized gaming industries haven't gotten their copies of Smash 3DS yet. Before Mario Kart 8 was released to the public, copies were given to the authorized gamers first, but I guess that that's because everything was revealed from Mario Kart 8's Nintendo Direct.

Smash 3DS doesn't have everything revealed to us yet, so chances are, the authorized gamers may have to wait for the games, just like with the rest of the Japanese residents.

I honestly hope that you are correct. It would be a lot more fun to not be spoiled way ahead of the Japanese release. We already know quite a bit. I'd wager the majority of things are revealed. We might have some surprises left, but I don't think there will be many.
