Who am I?

I am just some guy who likes to play smash who dual mains Zelda and Peach. Normally, I consider myself to be a semi-competitive player. I really do not care about the "tier list" or where my favorite characters stand. Whenever I play someone new, I like to show what I can do with the princesses. My style is all about being creative and using all their moves in their arsenal.

People on smashboards and other smash related forums talk about frame data, match-ups, and other related things. I do not normally contribute to these discussions because I really just like to play the game without analyzing it; such discussions usually end up in a fierce debate where people are criticizing each others' grammar and other things (plus I get a headache). However, what I do analyze is the player and what their chosen character has the ability to do. I like to say I'm alright at predicting what my opponent is going to do or where they are going to move next. I've gone to a couple of tournaments at my local university and placed first and second respectively. Perhaps the people who attended those tournaments are not well known smashers in the smash community but hey, at least I got them to fear the quietest and most graceful taunter and the most random and *****iest characters in the game. Zelda and Peach mainers are somewhat sparse.

I by no means, consider myself to be a professional or will ever be. I like to think I'm little above average in terms of skill level when I compare myself to the people I've played online and offline. In other words, I do think I am one of the better Zelda players and one of the better Peach players. There are other individuals who dedicate so much of their time to the game in order to learn the way it functions. I presume these are the "pros" in the community. I know myself and I am not capable of doing that; however that does not mean I am an overt individual and will not accept criticism. I accept it if it is going to help me get better and earn a victory on another day. Something as simple like, "seldom use Din's Fire" has done wonders for me. I enjoy giving a tip to other players because I know it is discouraging to lose. It is all about giving a helping hand and being a respectful person.

If there is one thing that bothers me when I play people is when they just complain and go into a rampage for losing against me. The other day, I was playing some ice climber player who of course, specialized in grabs and what not. He did grab me at times but at times I did escape. He told me, "oh you are lucky we are playing online and that I mess up my grabs, blah blah..." I am not one to point fingers right now. My response was, "Well, I have improved over time and learned to deal with ice climbers more or less. I am not as aggressive and I am more on the defensive and try to avoid getting grabs." He just said, "no. you are lucky." or something along those lines. Funny thing is that he has the nerve to taunt and post offensive and idiotic messages on his taunts. Out of the 10 or so rounds we played, he won perhaps three. Naturally, I responded with my own taunts such as "pwned ;3" with Zelda doing her up taunt or Peach with her umbrella saying "sweet." I think that's what really made my opponent snap. Another thing I told him is that if you don't like it when people tell you that you just got owned, then you shouldn't be writing those taunt messages. If you can not handle the game and take the counterattack, do not play it.

Yeah online play is laggy and it sucks at times. I admit I have succumbed to anger because of it, but I do not make a scene in a chatroom. If you dislike the online discussion between us, then just simply stop playing. You are only making things more complicated by continuing. It is so easy to fight online because you are protected by a computer screen. Additionally it is so simple to portray a certain image of yourself online by a person's diction, but things are so different when you two individuals meet eye-to-eye. Choose your words wisely and stop trying to be a badass. Players need to learn what they are getting into. Talking trash can be fun sometimes since it can be part of the game but be sure you can handle it yourself. Do not forget to look at the big picture: it's a game first. This game makes things happen that are out of our control, such as tripping (talking about Brawl and not Brawl+ or whatever it's called). A match can't solely be judged because of skill level. The term random should be the game's middle name.

So there you have it. I may not always be much of a talker in the chatroom unless we have played frequently and have good chemistry when we play, but that does not mean I'm a jerk. In person, I am not much of a talker when I first meet someone, but overtime, the wallflower in me will wither away. Trust me.

(I'm not sure if I make sense at times. :/ )
