All of you misread Renji's post (with the possible exception of RODO, who may have been playing coy). He wasn't implying that it looks like a visually upgraded Brawl; Only that Smash 4 seems to be borrowing the casual-friendly, anti-competitive mechanics and mindset of Brawl.

This alone tells me otherwise.

A 3 hit combo during a newcomer's trailer that ends in an aerial on a reeling foe?
sounds familiar

it's here if you're wondering

Shouldn't be removed, it should just be made a little harder to perform. Way too many times have I screwed up a target test because trying to turn around too close to a wall sends my character wall jumping and landing right back on the platform I was trying to get off of.

Don't buy it.

Before Brawl came out, they tried to sell us absolutely absurd combos, like Ike up-throw to up smash. They just sandbag for the promotional trailers and images to make the character look good.

Not writing off combos being a thing in Smash 4. Just saying we haven't seen enough to say they are going to be in. So far I am feeling Mega Buster walk-in combos, though.

I like it. It gives them some 'character' Sheik and Lucario do it well. Ah, im surprised it's KO-ed ya- I Used it for recovery. Knowing Sakurai he'll probably give it to more characters.. xp

Well, the other thing I was alluding to was Rosalina's playstyle. The puppeteer playstyle is considered to be amongst the most difficult playstyles in fighting games. Even with the simplified inputs, Rosalina will still be a tough character to learn. Now what kind of anti-competitive game would put such a character in a game?

The thing with Brawl though was the hitstun canceling which may or may not have been a glitch (can someone confirm this?). If it was, those combos were intended but the hitstun canceling just killed everything.

We also don't know prominence of DI in Smash 4 so it really is up in the air.

No, sir.

This is Mega Man:

This is Mega Man X (also my avatar):

They are different characters.

EDIT: To clarify, Mega Man cannot wall jump (or really do anything mobility-wise) whereas X can.
Well, he can sometimes. (note: in this game the 4 main characters including mega man can wall jump, and this one is technically classic mega man.)

Hmm brawl has the exact same hitstun as melee it is just that you can cancel it frame 13-16(I think) with an air dodge making combos non existent. People thought this was ridiculous while others said you would have to read the air dodge to continue the combo.

Brawl canceled hitstun made perfect combos very rare. To be honest, I believe brawl would be 2x better if you could not cancel hitstun. In fact I am just in shock at how much combos characters lost from this.

Also kuma? Are you going to main Rosalina or at least secondary her? I would really enjoy hearing your rosa posts.

I believe in brawl princess peach has the most imputs at the competitive level?

I wonder if canceled hitstun was intended; I hope smash 4 has balance patches just in case canceled hitstun returns.

I don't have any particular plans to learn Rosalina, but I'm not opposed to it.

I would like to think hitstun canceling was unintended as it would technically mean the combos we saw in trailers were false advertising.

Ah, micromanagement skill. Sounds good to me. Hopefully it ends up better than the Ice Climbers did.

Well, I know they're different characters, but that doesn't mean they can't share techniques, right?

We have Ness and Lucas as precedents on that so it's indeed possible, but that doesn't mean it should be done.

To me, I would look to see if Megaman having a walljump complements his playstyle and isn't just there.

Though there's the question if whether or not walljumps or some variation should be present for everyone in a platform fighter.

The whole reason X exists is because Dr Light wanted to build a new and more advanced Mega Man, without all of the original's technical limitations. Backporting X's abilities to Mega Man would go against the point of building X in the first place.

Mega Man's always been really straightforward. He's all about jumping and shooting, and his moveset in Smash 4 reflects that. The fancy stuff is X's shtick.

Yeah, you're right. So according to my desires (to keep characters faithful to their origin), Mega Man wouldn't be able to wall-jump. Huh.

Why remove a mechanic that you feel has no real negative impact?

It has the potential for some pretty neat ****, intentional or not. I remember a sexy little wall jump into the knee of justice on fourside.
Also, Lucario will most likely be able to really utilize it.

Can Luigi wall jump? I forgot XD
I also think Peach and Rosalina should wall jump, thanks to 3D World XD
Yeah, Peach is capable of wall jumping in the 3D World, but as mentioned, they probably won't let her because of her float.

Hell no.

I use Wall Jump in everything expect SSB64, so this would cripple my gameplay if they removed it from Smash4.
