Should there be 1,000 event matches?

I think there should be a mode called "Smash 101" (kind of like on the Dojo site). It would consist of 101 event matches that in the beginning test your ability to learn the basics of Smash, and then become more meaty as you go on. The final event, 101, would be the true test of skill, making you use everything you've learned up to that point (and more) in order to succeed.

If they do have an event mode, the final one (whether it be 51, 101, etc.) shouldn't be like it was in Melee. You shouldn't be able to spam and attack (i.e. Jigglypuff's rest) and win. It should be a true test of ability.

I think 1000 would take to long to beat, and if there was a character you unlock at the end, it would be nearly impossible to unlock them the first month you get the game.

....1000? Hell no. The original event matches were sort of annoying, anyways...

I'd have to say 100 TOPS. And maybe a more exciting character as a reward. xD

1000 seems a bit excessive, no?

IMO, 51 is plenty. Any more would take dev time out of more important things.

Although I'd do any amount of event mode matches to unlock an amazing character (Geno..).

In my own personal opinion, 1000 seems a bit of a chore to me. I do think that there should be more than 51 this time around, but I really don't want to go trough 1000 just to complete it.

But you would. If you had another 100 event matches to go in SSBM, wouldn't you be happy?

It's not 1000 at one time. you have to EARN 1000.

1000 was way too much. I honestly didn't even enjoy most of them. I just beat them to get Final Destination. 50 events is enough for me.

lol. 1000 is way too long. 100 seems a bit long too.

More Event Matches won't add replay value, but like others said, frustration value.

Not only would 1000 event matches being put in the game delay the game by about another 5 years, it would also suck. Who wants to play vs. a computer opponent for 1000 matches. I am never going to fight another computer opponent again after I unlock everything there is to unlock. If you could unlock everything by playing matches against other people that would be awesome. A lot of the new modes and stuff will be cool and fun for a bit but they are still computer players and those suck. Unless of course they massively fix the AI in the game to make computers just as good as fighting people, but that won't happen.

1000 would be ludicrous in that like it'd never happen and there's no reason for it to happen, but it would be hilarious and awesome as hell were it to happen

How about 1.

SSE is going to be PLENTY for single player. This is a fighting game, where VS is really what the games about. Just like Halo, just like every other fighter and FPS. Grab yourself an RPG or Action/Adventure if you want good Single Player action.
