For god's sake this is not ever going to happen.
You do realize that purchasing something from someone means that they have to be willing to sell it, right? It's a two-way interaction. That's how buying things actually works. You buy something from someone who wants to sell something. Nintendo can't just throw a bunch of money in the air and hope Rare will come rushing back like a hungry dog.
Microsoft has to be willing to sell Rare, and as it currently stands, that is not happening. Microsoft seems to be keen on reviving their franchises with Killer Instinct, Battletoads and Banjo making more new appearances in recent years. A Battletoads revival is imminent, as well as Rare's new pirate adventure game Sea of Thieves. They're sitting comfortably with them and they're not going anywhere for a long time.
If ANYTHING, Microsoft should consider themselves in a position to buy Nintendo. They have way more money and resources than Nintendo currently has.
