Everytime i take a shower, 3 hours later my hair goes poofy and makes me look like a nerd. Would thinning it make it look better?

If you want low maintenance, the only solution is to keep it cut really short. Even medium length hair is not for everyone. I had to spend about 15 minutes using a straightening iron on my hair just to make it look presentable when I went through my long hair phase. I had to do that every time it was exposed to moisture. Then I realized it wasn't worth the effort and now I never keep my hair longer than 1 1/2".

And no, any method of thinning your hair won't help the poofiness problem in the long run.

As none of you know, I have black hair. Well, the other day, I was checking out my hair in the mirror, and I noticed A BLOND HAIR! GROWING OUT OF MY HEAD!!

Any information on this?

I cut my own hair. I did a very bad job. I chopped off way too much at once, and now there's a giant bald spot in the side of my head. I do not own a hat, and I leave to start my first year of college in three and a half hours. What should I do?

He's not calling you out on caring about your personal appearance, he's just noticed (as have I) that in the past 48 hours or so, there have been 3 topics created by males about their hair.

Along with the working out thread, this room is getting a little gay. All we need is someone to admit that they hammock up and it'll be "The Todd Room".

uhh, who gives a **** if every single one of those posters was a flaming ******? get the **** over it and welcome to the pool room.

EDIT: but let's see a picture if possible of this "poofiness" from the front and sides, maybe it will help or something.

as for your hair being "poofy", i can only imagine that you shampoo/conditioner every time. if this is so, just don't shampoo it every time you shower or use some sort of cream/mousse to keep it a little more together. also, if none of this helps, you might want to get it "layered", which will really cut down a lot on the pure thickness. go look into what layering means and try to figure out if that's right for you.

now if you'll excuse me, i'm gonna go back to polishing my nails.

I get the same thing. After a shower, my hair poofs outwards and curls at the ends, and it looks TERRIBLE.

Try straightening. It's a hassle sometimes but you get results. I'm actually planning on getting a straight perm because straightening every day sucks. There's a way to do it without thermal reconstruction with some sort of solution you can buy.

Becareful thinning it, people might think you've got male pattern baldness or something.

I can't stand using products or anything like that for my hair. I'm a guy, I don't wanna take the time for that.

I'm just gonna let my hair go a little more. I want "1970s John Lennon" hair, not the super long phases.
