Should I buy Smash 4? Opinions Needed

I am legitimately questioning Nintendo's actions now. After all they did to hype this game up, tease the competitive scene, and make people pulling their hair out about their permanently damaged wallets, the game looks completely and totally Brawl-like. I really don't like to hate on Brawl and the casual community, but this game seems to have been way over-hyped. Is everybody still under the impression that more content means a better game?

The real question: Does this game have the redeeming qualities for a young teenager who loved Melee, hated Brawl, and has plenty of other things better to do with their limited money than buy this game to buy this game? (Yes, I know that was confusing, but it was grammatically correct, Grammar Nazis.)

Thanks ~

You're opinion is pretty objectively wrong, and this thread doesn't really deserve any real response. What kind of question is that anyways? Make your own decisions.

I retain the belief that more content would mean a better game. Unfortunately; however, this game does not have much more content than Brawl. In fact, I would argue that it has less content. Regardless, the overt lack of innovation definitely plays into detriment to the appeal of the game.

Does this game have redeeming qualities for a young teenager who loved Melee... the answer is subjective. For instance, I believe it does for me personally. However, I cannot speak for anyone else. The core fundamental game is still there (in fact, it is a blatant rip-off of prior titles with very little change), I suppose that is what is truly important.

You are most certainly welcome.

Look up the definition of "objectively" and try once again.

Yes, I get it you're broke but if you're a real smash fan buy, don't be a cheap ass. Also it's not as slow as brawl and you don't trip mid combo.

Yes, it's Brawl 2.0. But it's a faster, fixed Brawl. The game's extremely fun, and will be for another month or two. Plus, you're asking Smashboards, lol. Just buy it.

If you're looking for a competitive game, wait until a proper competitive scene has been established before buying it. If you want to play it for fun, I highly recommend it. It is very Brawl-like, but it's a fun game overall.

Before doing anything, I recommend downloading the demo (hopefully it's still up, not 100% sure) and playing around with it. That way, you can see how much you like the physics and then base your purchase from there.

Personally, I wasn't very fond of Brawl myself but I am really enjoying Smash 4 both "casually" and "competitively" (using these terms loosely here). The physics in my opinion feel like a mix between Brawl and Melee, but definitely lean towards Brawl a little more. I think it was worth the money.

Also, no tripping. Yay.

Thanks for the input so far.

Opinions ≠ Right or Wrong

Thank you very much, kind sir. This helps.

This is mostly what I have been hearing, but I just got confirmation, so +1 to "should buy."

I just tried. Now I need a freakin' Nintendo ID thing, which, of course, had to be overly complicated and I don't feel like doing it at the moment. But thanks for your opinion as well.

Currently swayed to buy it. :)
