Should CDs return?

CDs we fun to unlock in brawl,but should they return for the next game?

No but find a different way to unlock music. Event Match was criminally underused in Brawl so maybe have a few unlockable music in there? (Likewise for stages and characters)

I loved CD's. There was always that moment when you're having a tourney or just brawling with friends, and then a CD would pop up. Someone would yell "QUICK SOMEONE GRAB THE CD! NO ONE ATTACK" and we'd all stop and go for the CD. It'd turn into a little game of it's own: who can get the CD first. I thought they were lots of fun and I'd love to see them come back.

I sure hope so. I want the massive soundtrack of Brawl to be emulated in this game. I'd like a better way to obtain them, however, since everybody just resorted to CD farming anyway. An idea I think would work is to have them strewn about the adventure mode in hidden areas only certain characters can reach, making them sort of like the unlockables in games like Kirby and the Amazing Mirror, in a Metroidvania-style fashion. They could do the same with some trophies and/or stickers too, or whatever little unlockables they decide to include.

I had a lot of fun unlocking all of the music. So I would love the return of CD's. It was something fun to break up the monotony of a battle. I remember playing with 3 friends... when a CD would drop everyone stopped fighting and went after it to make sure we collected it. Good times. I also liked how you could use the CD's to change up music on stages or assign your created stages with a song. It made collecting them worth it. Stickers felt gimmicky, you never really used them for anything aside from SSE.

What do you mean? More fun than random spawns? Or more fun than farming. I didn't farm myself because that would suck the fun out of it.

I personally would just want all the music from the beginning.
The CDs were always annoying to me. "There's still one I haven't unlocked? Damn it."

I definitely have no problems with unlocking music, but I didn't like having to do it via CD. I think it'd be cool (but unlikely) if the CDs could temporarily change the background music of the stage. Just imagine having some intense fight on Final Destination with intense music, and then all of a sudden the song changes to some Wii Fit yoga music

I never did any farming either, just waited for them to show up in vs. matches, got them all pretty fast. I kinda liked it better that way 'cause I got to appreciate each song as I got it instead of having more songs than I knew what to do with thrown at me. And really the game started off with plenty of songs so that wasn't a problem.

Also what TweenLeenk said. I used to compare CDs spawning to the Olympics and how it would stop wars for it's duration. I've even had players ask someone else to launch them towards the CD with an attack. Now that's what I call teamwork!

That's exactly what my friends and I did, I think they should return as long as the CD's/their songs don't take up enough memory to make Nintendo cut/scrape a feature/character/move/item. Stickers were useless, I've never applied them to my character at any point in my life. Trophies have to stay as well, they are iconic to the series.

I enjoyed collecting CDs, so I wouldn't mind seeing them make an appearance. I wouldn't be too bummed if they didn't appear, though, as long as My Music is still a feature and there are other ways to unlock music.

The CDS should return, but I'd like for them to appear in different ways if they were going to return as an item. Like no more Sandbag farming in Stage Builder.

I personally think they should return, but I won't mind it if they don't. As long as the game has a huge and good soundtrack, with a good amount of unlockable songs, I'm happy.

The primary way to unlock music in the next game should be to beat box into the mic receiver. If the tune is in the library, you unlock that song.

I do want to see the My Music feature expanded in the new game, let us move songs to stages other than what they were intended, and let us add custom music. That way, if Mega Man 7's Dr Wily Stage 1 theme isn't already there, I can fix that.

CD's were the business, i'm all for their return, but they're should be few that can be farmed, rather, you unlock them under certain little easy conditions. Like, if you Star K.O. Mario, randomly a CD with a song from Mario Galaxy would appear,or something like that, or they could just bring it back the same i'll still love it.

Not sure if this is what you're talking about, but a music editor would be pretty cool and is one of the few features I can think of the Brawl didn't already have. Like they could just throw the music maker from Mario paint in and I'd be pretty stoked.

CDs didn't spawn in item free play, which was all I played, so I had no way to get them other than farming unless I lucked out in single player stuff (very rare as I recall). That being said, it was pretty easy to farm them all so I'm indifferent to their return.

Brawl's stage builder wasn't much fun until ya unlocked all of the music. I really got into the stage builder when I found a song and wanted to craft a stage around it. That being said, I demand either all the songs from the start, or an in game shop to make unlocking em easier. Don't go hidin' none of them in the challenges ya hear!?!
On the topic of music, there were a select few songs (like the secret songs K.K. plays on the Animal Crossing Stage) that couldn't be used in the stage builder, not really a prob since the game had quite possibly the largest song selection in any game to date, hopefully those few songs won't go overlooked this time. Also, being able to add any song to any stage would be cool.

If CDs do return, I would like them to be albums (tracks grouped by author, stage, franchise, theme or style) and much more rare. In this case, they should be an alternative way to collect music, perhaps alongside a shop as has been suggested, or having the lottery machine dispense multiple kinds of collectibles besides trophies. It could make completing the library significantly easier.
