Shorthop after down b?

I have a tough time short-hopping to begin with, but is it just me or is it not even possible to short-hop while rolling on the ground via down b?

Was this how they "disabled" wave-dashing out of side b? Can sonic just not short-hop out of any of his spins now?

Sonic was never able to short hop out of down b. Wavedashing out of down-b was only possible because Sonic was able to act immediately after a jump out of spindash with an airdodge or an attack. You can, however, perform a short hop and wavedash out of side-b, it wasn't disabled.

Oh interesting. For some reason I thought it was the opposite.
