Hello everyone i'm having trouble SHing with Fox becacuse his jump is so fast.

I can do it with Falco and others, but I just only get it with fox like 1/10 of the time.

Any help would be great. Bye.:)

EDIT: I was always using a wireless Wavebird, and I heard they have a 2 frame lag...

That explains a lot! Now I can do it about 1/5 of the time!

lol there really is no "trick" other than just practicing, just do it over and over again, eventually you'll get the touch for it

p.s. you'll find this to be true for a lot of smash related techniques, only way is to practice, just keep to it, sounds cliche but honestly, it's true, especially for short hopping

Truth. Just spaz out on the controller and hit the button really hard. smash that jump button. Eventually you won't have to smash it and it will feel natural.
hahahah wait really?!?!?! or is that a compeltel joke.

Smash it? Don't smash it? Both incorrect. Although I trust you can both Short hop, you're not really helping lol. It's just based on how fast you can release it. So just hit it fast. Practice, however, is the most important.

Fox has one of (if not the) fastest jump in the game. The controller gauges how long your finger is on the button, and how quickly you release it. Work on tapping it very quickly. You can hit it hard, or soft...because it doesn't really matter how you do it - as long as you keep the brevity of the SHs constant between each jump. Bah its not that complicated. Just make sure your finger isn't on the button too long. Swipe/flick/tap.

I think Fox is tied with Shiek for slowest jump delay. When I first started SHing, I grew my right thumbnail so I could flick the X button. This made it a whole lot easier. When I cut it, I found that I could still SH because my thumb was used to making that motion. Also, you can look into the "slow right thumb" thread for more info.

OMG, I found out something I never realized...

On my other thread in Melee discussion, someone told me that the wireless Wavebird's have a 2 frame lag...

That explains a lot! Now I can do it about 1/5 of the time!:):)
