Short-Hop-Double Lasers: PM vs. Melee

I've been messing around with Fox more recently and I've noticed I can SHDL more proficiently in PM compared to Melee.

I was told that fox's frame data was ported directly over, yet it seems much easier.

can anyone give some insight on this?

Brawl checks a frame earlier (the very last frame possible to check) than Melee for button release to determine SH. Melee checked a frame earlier than it had to for some reason.
