Is it possible, with certain characters, to shield grab Falco before he can shine out of an aerial with 100% accuracy? Because whenever I play with my friend Colbol he seriously shield grabs me before I can shine almost everytime. Any no I'm not missing my L-cancels. Does anyone play vs someone like this and know wtf to do?

Make sure the aerial makes first contact with the lower half of the opponents shield. You can do this simply by starting your aerial later in the jump (for example, I perform my aerial at virtually the same moment I fastfall). By actually hitting them and initiating shield stun later, the gap between your aerial and the shine becomes much smaller, and you cannot be shield grabbed out of it.

Yeah, this is one of the big things that takes getting used to with falco. Late aerials reduce time between the aerial and the shine.

I realize that doing the aerial lower to ground provides more/longer stun. It doesn't seem to matter how low to the ground I do my aerial, he still shield grabs me.

you could l-cancel into a grab to mix things up, but just keep practicing. If he is in shield try approaching with SHL before you try to pillar, put pressure on him.

If that doesn't work do the sacred combo I invented, it is unbeatable. When your opponent is about to shield grab you, yell and punch him in the face. Works every time.

You have a 3 frame margin of error if he's perfect with his grabs. Try spacing so you land behind if he's that good.

Stop playing Floridians and you won't get grabbed as much.

Seriously, there must something wrong with the water there. "Florida - America's Blindingly Fast Thumb" = new state motto.

You should try to do a SHFFL Dair, so that you land behind your friend, thus he can't shield-grab you. :p
