Shiek vs SHL

So here's the problem: I'm a pretty decent Shiek player and I can pretty much beat everyone at my shcool with ease..... execpt one person. (Dare I say this? Stereotypes are so mean...) This guy is Asian and he plays a really mean Falco. His pillars and SHLs keep owning me like crazy. I can beat his other characters just fine, it's just his falco im worried of. Somebody help?

DUDE I KNOW. I hate Asi...I mean, people who SHL with Falco. Advice? Not much. Move faster, light shield, actually I've found that roll dodges work pretty well for dodging lasers (at long ranges). Stand next to an edge and roll dodge towards it repetitively; you won't fall off, and if you time them really close together, you'll be invincible about 95% of the time, so he won't hit you unless he gets lucky. As for pillars, I don't have much for you there other than DI like crazy.

Pillar = Roll or shieldgrab, but shieldgrabbing will get punished hard if you miss.

SHL = Powershield or keep on top of them so that can't spam. A shl happy Falco is one of the few match-ups I have to play really aggressively to win.

Aerial needles, aerials from platforms, dash atk/grab/dsmash

For Sheik the grab is huge against fast faller, tech chasing can make removing a stock so much easier.

him being asian has nothing to do with his falco owning u.

the best asian falco (bombsoldier) has lost to the now-retired American falco player Foward.
the whole asians are best at video games stereotype is just an excuse players use to make themselves feel better when they lose.

anyway, learn to use needles and jump over lasers.
avoiding lasers shouldnt be too difficult for shiek, specially on small stages like FoD and Yoshis story.

Grrr....my last post did not go through. Lets try this again:

Many a time a Sheik can crouch cancel a lot of SHLing and then pull off a dash attack here and there. Learn to DI his pillaring, learn to shield grab his poorer spaced Dair's...

Jab --> Jump-cancelled grabbing and then tech-chasing is your best bet to do major damage. Hopefully this was helpful, good luck.

Its not the greatest matchup. Lately I've been going marth against space animals, and shiek against floaties. My only real advice is that edgeguarding is where you have the biggest advantage against falco.

pick battlefield or yoshi's story. use platforms. duck lasers and wd forward inbetween them when you are close and then dtilt or be ready to spot dodge/roll back

level choice is really important. If you guys are doing best of 3 with counterpicks and all that, definitely bring him to Battlefield or yoshi's story. I prefer battlefield but either should prevent him from lasering you too bad.

I really just duck and then jump inbetween the lasers before they have the chance to smash my ***, then jump in close enough to make them useless, usually smashing them in the face in the process. SHL doesn't bother me all that much, but maybe that is because I'm a friggin bunny with Sheik so lasers are usually ineffective with me. Needles at the right time can deal just as much damage as lasers can as well, and i frequently stop them with needles as well.
