Prepare yourself for Akron's newest Super Smash Bros tournament series. Pinnacle joins the battle to provide the NEOH smash community with a competition in which players can simply focus on playing their best. Monthly Smash 4 tournaments will be held in the back room of Downtown Akron's own Barley House (222 South Main St. Akron, OH 44308) and of course all players have a chance of showcasing their skills on the new tournament stream.
Pinnacle 1 will be held on September 20, 2015. Pre-register now by visiting pinnacle-esport.com (website under construction, bear with us. Here is a direct link to the form http://goo.gl/forms/NxxSlvXF65) and save money. Pre -registration will stay open until 3 days before the event (September 17) or you can register on tournament day during check in time. Check in will begin at 2PM and closes at 2:50PM. If you are under 16 a parent must be present at check in. Bracket games begin at 3PM. Please contact us through the website or by email at admin@pinnacle-esport.com if there are any constrains preventing you from making it on time and we will attempt to make accommodations.
There is a parking deck behind Barley House that is completely free on Sunday's but the elevator to the lobby is closed, so use the front entrance of the restaurant.
The venue will be open until 8 PM. Since this is the first event of the series we do not have an accurate estimate of how many people will attend and therefore how long the singles bracket will take so we will only hold a doubles bracket given enough time and interest. Feel free to play friendlies until closing after the bracket games finish. Future tournaments will have a more solid schedule and may add events depending on interest.
An additional four set ups are required for the event. The first four to register a set up (separate from registering for the tournament) will have their venue fee completely waived. A set up includes:
TV with minimal lag
Wii U console with all necessary cables
A copy of Super Smash Bros for Wii U up to date with the latest patch, all DLC characters, all stages unlocked (including Dreamland 64), and pre made standard sized Mii fighters with a 1111 move set
GameCube controller adapter

Fees:
Singles: $10 per player
Doubles (if held): $20 per team ($10 per player)
Venue: $5 per player (if pre-registered)
$6 per player (if not pre-registered)
Payout:
1st place: 60%
2nd place: 30%
3rd place: 10%

Winning player bans two stages
Winning player may change character after any game but that selection will be locked in before losing player chooses their character
The room will have a waitress assigned to it for the entirety of the tournament. If you want any food or drinks please order it through the server rather than walking out to the bar area. Barley House is being very generous and flexible with how long we can have the room so be generous back and order some food from their delicious menu and tip the wait staff appropriately!
