Are you all ready to Bring The Hype? Your call for Smash glory has been answered! Thanks to the man, the myth, the legend, Sean Langhi — we have secured for the SECOND time a venue at Google HQ in Mountain View. There, we’ll continue to grow not only as a community, but also as players in our ever-continuing journey to show why we love Smash Bros. This event is worthy of a special trip.
Everything you loved about the first S@G is back, along with a whole host of new features: — Smooth pre-registration! Email langhisc@gmail.com with "S@G" in the subject line (no quotes). Include your full name, your Smash tag, where you're coming from, what equipment you plan on bringing, and any special information you'd like us to know. At the exact instant that your email is transmitted, your spot is reserved! Registration switches to Waitlist Mode after the first 160 signups, so hurry and get registered!
(Pre-registration required for all attendees.) — Walk freely in and out of the venue, thanks to a brilliant security engineering solution. Goodbye shuttle runs, hello easy access! —We're featuring a station JUST for Money Matches! It's located up on the main stage, and specially configured for easy streaming. Throw down some dollars, command the attention of the whole room, get commentated, and broadcast your bodacious hype on Twitch! Your glory is captured forever in the sacred halls of YouTube. We'll broadcast any match with a stakes of $2 or more. — 7 setups form the dedicated Friendly Zone! Never stop Smashing — there's always a place for you to play.
Last, but certainly not least... – Introducing a brand-new, never-before-seen, absolute bombshell of a tournament format. It's not pools. It's not single-elimination. It's not double-elimination. It's called the Breakout! system, and it's named after the entity that created S@G. I will tell you. This progression ruleset could be the best thing to happen to the Smash scene in years. It operates in a fraction of the time compared to the old format, sorts players according to skill more objectively than pools could, requires no pre-seeding, natively supports the Pro/Am system, and guarantees everyone at LEAST 3 matches (4 matches for the majority of entrants) to reward even fledgling competitors for their investment of the $5 entry fee. Admission fee is $10, to be collected at the Tunis door.
