Please check on this thread frequently if you're interested! Details may change, such as location! Event Page for this Week
The Rodent's Den is a Project M Singles (and eventually Doubles) Weekly tournament series hosted at Something 2 Do in Louisville, Kentucky. We hope that anyone remotely interested in the game will give this new attempt at building a scene a shot!

We want to promptly start our events at -5:30pm-, so please show up before hand to register and play friendlies.
We are also experimenting with rewards systems for frequent attendance, including:

- End of the Month Pot Bonus based on accumulated points.
- Experimental Seeding System that favors frequent attendees.
We would appreciate any input on these as we implement it!

How else can you help? We will need these things to help keep the event running smoothly.

*Wiis with Project M 3.5 Fullset
*CRTs
*Power-strips
*Extension Cords
*Your own controller
*We are also looking for help to run the events, so you're welcome to volunteer!

Aren't we all always posting stuff on the sub-reddit to get attention?
Why yes we are! If you're interested in watching from the stream directly, go to XFAwkward's Twitch
If you're interested in clip reels or just can't see it on Thursday, go to Our Youtube Channel!

Rules:

Project M Singles

For the 1st match, players strike the starter list in 1-2-2-1 fashion. After each match, the winner of the previous match bans 3 stages (Players may counterpick a stage that they previously banned in the set, but may not counterpick a stage on which they won). The player who lost the previous match chooses a stage, then the player who won chooses their character, then the player who lost chooses their character.

* 4 stock, 8 minutes.
* Sets are best of 3. Losers/Winners/Grand Finals and Winner's/Loser's Semis are best of 5.
* Items set to “off” and “none.”
* Either player may call for a Double Blind character selection for the first match.
* Dave’s Stupid Rule: A player may not counterpick any stage he won on in a set.
* Quitting out of a match before it is over will result in a loss for the quitter.
* If time runs out, the person with the most stock left (or least % if they are equal) wins. If the % is equal as well, play a 1 stock 3 minute match, same characters and stage.
* If the match goes to sudden death due to a suicide move (Ganon’s side-B, Kirby/DDD’s swallow, holding someone in a grab on a platform as it moves out of the boundaries, etc.), the one who initiated the move wins.
* Buffer set to off.
* In the event that the game crashes or the TV/Wii loses power in the middle of a match, that match will be restarted from the beginning with the same characters and stage. If a player uses a known glitch to intentionally crash the game or otherwise make it unfinishable, that player may be forced to forfeit the match or be DQed at the TO’s discretion.
* No excessive stalling
* No coaching during a match.
* Both players may agree to any rule or stage outside the tournament ruleset.
* Giga Bowser is banned.

Stagelist:

Neutrals:
Yoshi's Story
Green Hill Zone
Pokemon Stadium 2
Battlefield
Smashville
Dreamland
Distant Planet

Counterpicks:
Yoshi's Island (Brawl)
Warioware
Final Destination
Norfair
Fountain of Dreams

When do you think doubles will be added? Just wondering
We're holding off on doubles this week to get a gauge of our player count. If all goes well and we finish this week with extra time, we might hold surprise doubles. Likely though, we'll have doubles next week for sure once we get an idea on how we need to pace ourselves.

Do you have any idea on the number of people that will be going, and will you ever expand to Melee?

Our numbers are currently around 16-20 and rising very consistently. We have a pool of 30 players.

No, we aren't going to expand to Melee for two reasons: Time Constraints and the division of Melee and PM players in Louisville. The Rodent's Den is designed to grow PM, the weakest scene in the city. Don't let that dissuade you from coming though, you can bring Melee if it doesn't hold up the event somehow and there are a few Melee players that like to show up.

KellyK has found a place though to include PM, Melee, and Sm4sh in one roof that he's currently working on in the city, which we will be funding and participating with.

Awesome, if you could, please set yourself and your friends as attending on the facebook page. We're trying to have some basic pre-reg setup using that so we can speed up our registration process.
