I'll probably get infracted but I don't care
This thread was recently locked by some random mod who probably looks in here once a month, citing that it is a post that belongs in the "pool room" or whatever. I disagree, since most of us don't actually care where "darkmarthslayer49" got their name; we are curious about the people in our own community; the people we are likely to encounter and even get to know in person. As such, I see no reason as to why this WOULDN'T be allowed in a regional board.
The bigger problem is that mods who don't actively patrol this forum shouldn't be taking the initiative to make judgments as far as whether a thread is "relevant" or not; given that we have our own set of real mods who know and understand the community, they should keep their noses out of it - obviously, exceptions can be made for explicit rule-breaking, like profanity, vulgarity, etc. that would be 'enforced' equally in every forum on smashboards, but something so community-centric should NOT be policed by the higher-ups.
I'm sure very few others actually care, and even I barely care about this specific instance, but random mods coming in to random forums and flexing their muscles whenever they feel like it has been a problem that has been bothering me for a LONG time, and they deserve to be called out
