Old news, yes. Is there a thread about it? No. Basically, the RingEdge and RingWide are Sega's newest type of arcade board. The RingEdge is the main board in the family with the best of everything. Basically, the RingEdge is for super-awesome games of doom while the RingWide is for simpler games that don't need all of the RingEdge's blast processing. They both run off of Windows, and (according to Sega), this is so that third-parties would find it easier to program for the boards.

RingEdge Specs:

- CPU: Intel Pentium Dual-Core E2160 (1.8 GHz)
- RAM: 1 GB DDR2 SDRAM (PC-6400)
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce 8800GS with 384 MB GDDR3 SDRAM (Shader Model 4.0)
- Output: 2 DVI ports
- Storage: 32GB SSD
- Networking: Gigabit Ethernet (1000BASE-T)
- OS: Microsoft Windows Embedded Standard 2009
- Other: 3 USB ports, 5.1 channel HD Audio, Sega ALL.NET online support

RingWide Specs:

- CPU: Intel Celeron 440 (2.0 GHz)
- RAM: 1 GB DDR2 SDRAM (PC-5300)
- GPU: ATI Radeon HD 2xxx with 128 MB GDDR3 SDRAM (Shader Model 4.0)
- Output: 1 DVI port
- Storage: 8GB CF
- Networking: Gigabit Ethernet (1000BASE-T)
- OS: Microsoft Windows Embedded Standard 2009
- Other: 2 USB ports, 5.1 channel HD Audio, Sega ALL.NET online

The Games:

The first game for the RingEdge is called Border Break (above), a competitive squad-and-class-based mech game in which teams of two duke it out and try to destroy each others bases. The game will use only a portion of the RingEdge's graphical power (but still, for an arcade game... that's pretty good) but the game will use a touch screen and some kind of "special controller system" (according to Wikipedia). And using Sega's ALL.NET system, the game will let player's play with people in different arcades. Another game is Shining Force Cross, although we only have a trailer for that (which can be seen here: http://www.gametrailers.com/video/japanese-debut-shining-force/48300 ). The game looks a lot like Phantasy Star Online to be honest.

And for the RingWide, we have a remake of Daytown USA.

Well, I'm exiting for this (am I the only one who plays games in the arcades anymore?), how about you guys?

Never heard of this before, seems pretty cool.

Imagine a perfect online arcade system.Like you could walk in and play tekken online against some random person who is also online.
