There was a band on my school who needed an extra guitarist, so I joined them for the MTS(Mendel Talent Show). We did Snow by RHCP, but we didn't qualify because we weren't that prepared when we auditioned. Actually, it was the first time the whole band was there when we auditioned. Also, we had a female singer and she was having trouble getting the right tones because it was kinda difficult for her.

I also participated in Mendel Unplugged , twice. Once I was just guitarist and we did the acoustic version of Summer of '69 by Brian Adams. The other time it was just me and another guy playing(and singing) Holiday in Spain by Counting Crows ft. Blof(a Dutch band). I did the Dutch part and the other guy the English. It was cool.

That's about all of it I think.

Ahh, thats cool man. Brian Adams is pretty good, and Im sorry to hear about the female singer, haha.
Seems like you've had a little experience in shows.

For the guitar players, do you think a Line 6 HD75 4x12 stack should be loud enough for 1200 people?

Wow that's a huge venue. It really depends on the room's acoustics. If it's outside, you're out of luck. Volume doesn't come only from wattage but also from how many speakers you have. I suggest micing the cab to the venue's PA system with an instrument mic like a Shure SM57 if the place looks bigger than your school auditorium.

Yeah, its inside the auditorium. Stage, people in front.. you know. Im pretty sure its 280W output total with the 4x12, but its pretty easy to hook up to the PA system there, the amp's hookups are quite simple.
The room isnt THAT big, just like a regular auditorium. With a lot of seats.
I think i'll try using the PA system, if I have to turn it up around 8-10 its going to have monster feedback, especially with my high gain EMGs and Line 6 pedal..

Well if the auditorium isn't not that big then it should be okay. I'm sure you'll have a sound check beforehand. Try it without micing it first for sure. Have someone stand at the very back of the room with everyone (even vocals) playing. Have everyone's volume set relative to the drums, making sure nothing is drowned out.

I'm not too worried about how big the place is anymore. The HD75 is 75 watts output, which is what matters. The 280 watts is the input wattage and doesn't affect volume. I ran 85 watts 2x12 in a regular school auditorium and it was fine. With a 4x12 cab, you'll be heard perfectly. I don't think you'll need to go up to 8-10. I'm thinking 5. I only went up to 3 1/2ish but you might need to go a little higher because 1200 people suck up a lot of sound waves.

Thanks for telling me dude, Im not the best at technical guitar, lol.
Yeah Im sure we will have a sound check before, and i'll see how it is without the system first.
Thanks again dude.
