Scenario: Smash is Released Today But...

Before the game had it's unveil and was only spoken of, I had a conversation with my friend about why Smash 4 is even happening. Minor fixes have already been touched upon by Brawl mods, new stages are cool but not worth 60 dollars, and there's no way the roster is gonna be that significantly bigger than Brawl.
So I put it all on one thing. I would get excited if they (haha, it'll never happen) put MegaMan in the game.
So yeah. I'd buy it. Cuz that happened. And it was awesome.
Although none of my 3 Brawl mains have been unveiled yet, I guess I'd learn new ones.

I would buy it, but if it was $60 I would buy used out of vague protest.

Smash 4 is happening because Smash is Smash and life without Smash is empty, plus Brawl+ and Project M are lousy mods and aren't official at all.

Project m was a very intelligent and well planed mod by brilliant people ^
I would not buy smash 4 as I feel if more organized time is planed while working on smash 4... It will be better.

As it is now? Maybe if it was cheap, few too many characters are missing for a full retail price now. Luckily, the games aren't finished yet, and we don't know all the stages and characters.

If it was a demo or very cheap, then yes. If it was a full priced game, then no.

No Yoshi, no Captain Falcon, no Ness, no Ganondorf, no Falco, no Mr. Game & Watch, no Meta Knight, no Wario, no Diddy Kong… well the veteran list seems lacking.
We have 4 newcomers. We have Villager, Mega Man, Wii Fit Trainer, and Rosalina. That's it? Uhh… how about other newcomers like Little Mac, King K. Rool, Shulk, etc.? No? Well, that's underwhelming…
Stages? There aren't that many…
Items? I guess there are some cool ones, but we don't have a lot of Poke Ball Pokemon or Assist Trophies…
If the game was released now, it would be extremely underwhelming and a giant disappointment.

Depends, How does it play? I still love playing Smash 64 and it has only a little more than half the roster. And IMO this roster is still better than melees despite it having three less characters.
