Save Points?

I'm in the middle of the great maze. If I reach a save point and save my game, and then leave the map to go play other modes, will I resume Subspace from that spot? This morning when I resumed play, even though it saved all of my character and boss fights, I still had to start back from right after the Petey Pirhana fight.

NVM, warp pads. Ok, too bad they're not at every save point. >_>
