I like Doctor Mario, he's my main, but he is a clone, and can't really be changed into a better character... But isn't awkward to have two Mario's as different characters, but just uses different powers and appearances? I think so.

I main Doc and I know where your coming from when you say he owns... but it was kind of like a slap in the face when you first played through the game and got him as a new character. He is the SAME EXACT person as mario except with a different occupation. And then they put him right next to Mario in the character selection screen just to remind you that they are the same person.

But from the looks of it, Mario has absorbed some of Docs strengths. Look at the Nintendo World Movie on the Smash Dojo. Right in the beginning Mario performs an Fair on his opponent and instead of Sending him straight towards the ground, the opponent is sent upward and to the side... Just like Docs Fair!! So it looks like Mario might be more like Doc in the next game (minus the pills).

Pretty much, no need for the Doc anymore. Just play Mario, they were basically the same, although they do have different feels you should be able to make the adjustments.

Exactly what I think. I don't like Doc being a clone of Mario, and I always said that he should have been an alternate costume. That way, Doc is still there, just as a costume.

Dr. Mario is one of my favorite characters in Melee, and I think he has a little chance to be in Brawl.
There´s even another character from Dr.-series on Sakurai´s poll (Blue Virus). I know he is a fun char and he has no chance to be in Brawl, but... yeah forget it....

I thought it was great when I first heard Dr. Mario was going to be in Melee! I got to have conversations like this with people:

Me: Dr. Mario's in this one.

Them: Dr. Mario? Wtf does he do? Throw pills at you?

Me: Yes.

Even if Dr. Mario gets taken out, it'll just be so they can replace him with someone like Paper Mario. So all of you people who don't want him back because "he's the same person" will be disappointed regardless.

If you seriously believe that Paper Mario will be a playable character and not (at the very most) a costume, there's something wrong with you.

I always liked Doc, his NES game still holds a special place in my heart. But sadly I have to say that I also think that he won't make it. He's really just Mario in a doctor suit. It was cool the first time he was in Super Smash Bros. but it wouldn't be the second time, it was a sort of WTF! moment, that's why I believe G&W won't make it either.

The only way I can see him in Brawl is as an alternative costume...IF there's such thing in Brawl, but we can't be sure yet.

So better say goodbye to Doc now or else you'll be disappointed if he doesn't make it in the game.

I think Doc was a last second character in that game because he was easier to make being a change over from Mario... this may be why he makes Brawl. Make Mario, then make a few twitches and you have Doc.
I liked him as a character, I liked all the Brawl characters outside of Pichu... Pichu can go.
