For some reason Smashville seems to be my worst stage with Samus. I never have a lot of room to keep them away and the small KO zones don't help either. How can I improve on Smashville? And yes, I know those multiple spotdodges were unnecessary, I was screwing around even if it was an MM >_> and now I know that dtilt > dsmash

Edit: Feel free to watch the rest of the set to help me improve on my Samus as well :p She is my seondary btw, I main Wario. And that Wario match against Marth was my second time using Wario that day </johns>

I find Smashville to be a useful stage for Samus. The stage lacks lips (like that of Battlefield), and you have that floating platform, which allows Samus to use her u-air and f-air, and z-air, if her opponent is standing on it. Furthermore, you can go under the stage by using two Bombs, your second jump, and then the Screw Attack to get to the other side. (This can also be performed on Frigate Orpheon, Norfair, Battlefield, and Final Destination, though that is more difficult).

I was going to write more, but the power went out and this computer could only last so long without power. Anyway, if I were you, I'd give myself more credit. You play Samus very well, in my opinion. Your n-air on 2:37-2:38 was performed beautifully, and the way you combined your attacks in 3:43-3:55 was very impressive. I'll give you some tips, though. You seem to have struggled returning to the stage at the beginning. It is good that you were using Bombs to return, but using your Homing Missiles can also help you. It will hinder your opponent and keep him at bay.

Other than that, keep on practicing. I think your Samus has potential.

Woah.. woah.. I don't think this is really a matter of stage counterpick problems.. it's more of a matchup issue.
You're facing an extremely aggressive MK (redundant? possibly) and you make a few mistakes on how to handle him. One important thing to know is to not rely so much on grapple to recover! Meta has so much air control under the stage that he can gimp the hell out of you on the tether. He's waiting for you to throw out the tether, especially on this stage, since the wall on Smashville has an angle that easily stagespikes. Just try to screw attack to ledge as safely as possible.. up b usually outprioritizes other stuff. Also, you were lucky that he got gayed when you tethered, he stuffed it, and your up B snapped sooner than his.

I noticed that the MK you fought usually approached in the air. I would say that MK at his shorthop is at the ideal height for you to take him on. Zairs eat through anything he throws at you, and if you predict well, you can just sh nair in place, or approach with sh uair. If he starts to rush you on the ground, hold your ground and wait for him to come to you -- if you're smart you'll know your options. You can ftilt to stop his dash attack and shdair in place will punish any missed grab attempts. Also keep in mind that with his size it's hard to get kills with bairs, so try for down-angled fsmashes, dtilts or charge shots.

If you have any other questions or if you're down for a ditto or something, get at me! Good luck

n00b is correct about the match-up. Meta Knight can be difficult to defeat. I was in a multi-man match with a friend of mine and his friend on Yoshi's Island. His friend was defeated, so it was my friend and I. He was playing as Meta Knight, while I was playing as Samus. Had I not spiked him eariler in the game when he was returning to the stage, he would have had two lives left. Fortunately for me, I had two lives left, and he only had one. The problem was that he would knock me in the air, and I had to be very defensive, lest he perform his u-air in a consecutive manner.

He was at a high percent, and what I was focusing on was that if I used my d-tilt on him, the game would be over. The entire match depended on that and that alone. Combine that with lag, and you have a bit more problems. It was coming to the point where I was wondering if he would defeat me. I was a bit under pressure from his quick attacks, but I finally got him. That was a relief.
