What's weird is that samus is blue during her bomb animation but I've definitely been hit while I was in bomb. I even tested it in dolphin because I wasn't sure. Is the video wrong?

it's really unclear what that means lol; you're definitely not invincible there

maybe only a small portion of samus is invincible during the bomb (I think maybe her head?) but any hit that hits you will also hit some other part of you that's not invincible, so you get hit

I never noticed samus hits with both fists with d-tilt.....

Samus has a sliver of her body, like 1/12 is invins, but a misconception you may have is that you are invins frame 2 off a bomb jump? Other than that, she is pretty damn vulnerable w/e you lay a bomb so dont go around spamming against better opponents.
