Samus Grapple Glitch?

Today I was trying out random things with Samus' extended homing grapple.
As Ganondorf jumped above me, I used the homing grapple which went straight up and a reeled him in. Strangely, right as he became completely reeled in my game froze. Is this a widespread glitch that I'm unfamiliar with?

Also, I was playing SSBM on the Wii, could that be a possible reason for this occurrence?

Could you give more information, like what stage, etc.? It was a computer, also? I'm not sure, but I don't think the extended grapple can grab in the air. I haven't heard of this before, maybe it's just me. Still, it's interesting, but sounds like it'd be hard to recreate.

Well, I was playing a level 9 computer Ganondorf on Pokemon Stadium, and yes, the grapple did work while he was jumping. Also, he was in the act of jumping over me.

I'll try to re-create it with some friends next chance I get.

Well, I dont think that the extended grapple is able to work in the air, so the glitch could be that in itself. or, was he jumping above you about to land on a platform? if he landed on a platform and was grabbed by the grapple, the game would have to let go, and there could be some sort of glitch...
