Samus Advanced Tech that I have not seen discussed

Well we all know about hyphen dashing or boost dashing and we also know about dash attack canceling usmash. I know that it was previousley believed that Samus couldn't do any of these, but this is not true. Im not sure if this has been discussed elsewhere, and If it has I apologize.

Anyways, if you simply mash forward on the control stick and up on the c-stick, Samus gets a really nice distance slide while doing an upsmash. Your timing with the forward + cstick will determine how far she slides; you kind of have to feel it out but its pretty easy to get going. A good thing to note is that you can control the distance of it. Ive been messing around with this and I've found some pretty cool uses for it, INCLUDING KO's.

For one thing, you can do it out of any of her canceled aerials including missiles and zair. This means there are setups for it. The other cool thing about it is that it comes out pretty fast and, depending on your distance from your opponent obviously, you will travel past them while she is still in the usmash, so it can not only catch them if they try a shield grab, but they are almost always in the field of the last hitbox of the usmash because they end up behind you. You can also do it from a jab cancel which looks really badass and can catch them if they get knocked back too far.

Last but not least, one of the coolest things with it is to do it from a bomb cancel. You can lay bombs, then cancel one and fly forward with an usmash. It almost looks like a ******** super wave dash.

If you can get all the different distances of it downpacked, you can space it and make it difficult to punish. This might be a pretty awesome and dynamic move to incorporate into Samus' close and midrange game, and I've actually started to replace her normal dash attack with it. I'll post some vids of the stuff I'm talking about asap. Give it a try guys!

I like your ideas on this, especially the bomb cancel. I know n00b and I did it to some extent to each other in some of our matches. But I guess the quality makes it kinda hard to notice. I'll try and see which matches have it to post here so it might be a bit of help especially newcomers.

I actually already use this, but not to much success. It only works well on retardedly large characters like Ganon and DK. I set it up using SH fair, jabs, and missiles. It's also really easy to DI out of the flamethrower hits. It kills at over 150%, but since it only works on large characters, it generally kills at around 180%. In addition, it can combo into Screw Attack depending on your opponent's DI. It's not a true combo, but it's something to work with. I already Screw Attack 30 times in every match... so yeah.

I do this against taller characters or people camping in shield or when I predict a roll but I never considered it an AT?? Usmash is a very situational move as it is so I wouldn't really go too crazy over this, but it's always something that a Samus can have up her sleeve/arm cannon to keep it "tricky" for the opponent.

Well I noticed that it hits Marth, so I was happy about that. Also hit ROB, Ike, and Snake and some others used in tourney. I've had some success using it as almost a get away tactic when my opponent closes in through projectiles. It has that burst of speed effect that puts you through them. I dunno. I just figured it was an interesting use for the upsmash...or just a use for upsmash.

We should be doing reverse running upsmashes.

KO hitbox = facing them.

@ above: that would be too slow, and it KOs at 150%-180%. Without the earlier flames hitting, it would kill at 160%-190%.

I Just want to state that this works for nearly every character in the game.

It has been known and talked about, but not very much. Still, you do get credit for helping those who do not know about it.
