Guys, I found this glitch that I've never seen before , i'm assuming i'm the first to find it, which allows 2 characters to have the same colour. It only works with the default colour.
no, it doesn't use the stock glitch. and it requires 2 controllers.
Step 1: Choose a character. (MARIO is recommended because he is easy to spot whether he is the default character or not)
Step 2: Press A so that the announcer says Mario's name.

Now here's the tricky bit,
Step 3: press b or a to unselect Mario, but at the same time, use the second controller to move the cursor to Mario. if done correctly, both of them will become Mario without having a light Mario. They will both have the same stock, but once the match ends and when you go back to the character selection screen, they won't have the same palette colour.

Sorry I cannot post a video at the moment, but please notify me if you found evidence that someone has already found this glitch with the identical steps.

This is known, and if I recall correctly, it's not limited to the default colour.

i'm assuming i'm the first to find it,
That's always a fairly risky assumption to make with a 10+ years old game.

I had wondered if this were possible. Never got around to looking it up before so thank you for posting this.

It never ceases to amaze me when it comes to the videos people can actually remember lol. It is going to be a sad day (and I will feel old) when '08 Smash videos aren't exactly at our fingertips anymore (in terms of someone just being able to pull them out).

I actually never knew about this method. Way more difficult than the usual method, but still I learned something new. Thank you :)
