your antics would not work against the best players around (aka me). nice try though. that might work against someone who hasn't played for 5 years.

A lot of players don't know that down-air, up-air, f-air give you a guaranteed grab with Link

I see them land one and then do an up-tilt and blow their free grab

I was aware of f-air, not d-air or u-air though.

Up-tilt generally has more combo potential than his grab, but in this situation it doesn't even matter because it's not guaranteed.

I was totally unaware of Samus' n-air -> grab too. Will it still work of the n-air is fastfalled? I assume so, but I read that when you fast-fall, you have slightly more landing lag than when you land normally.

Good video for what it covers, but I think it needs to cover more. :)

fast-fall is even better

up-tilt is horrible after a f-air, d-air, up-air on shield so easy for them to get away

this vid was mostly a test of some stuff of sony vegas colored text beneath the action

Hi, I'm fairly new to SSB. (The ATs, at least, I played it when I was like 9 :p)

Your guides have been very, very helpful, so I've subscribed to your channel. Looking forward to new vids!

Shield to jump is probably one of the most important things in this game.

Dodge can be replaced with :

Dash Pivot or jumping

Dodging is only useful in spots when jumping wont help, or when u want to pass through a tornado.

if u dodge too much, it will be too easy for your opponent to predict ur dodge and do a SURPRISE C0CKFEG hit

If by dodging you mean rolling, I know I roll wayyyy too much.

Part of the reason is that I didn't understand *exactly* how to up-smash or up-b out of shield. I'd get it sometimes, but didn't know the exact input.

Today I practiced it and figured it all out, so hopefully it shouldn't take long to completely implement it into my game and make less mistakes. :)

wtf link uair/dair to grab? after all my years of playing i never cross a scenario where my opponent is the exact correct distance after the hit to allow me to use grab after, usually they would be too close after the hit and a grab would miss, or they would roll away before the attack because its so predictable,

...very hard to catch someone in that situation imo (not including fair)

dair seems pretty hard, and why the hell would you do a first move attack with uair lol thats lame
shorthop up-air with link is VERY useful

what you do is up-air and kind of float into their shield, giving you the correct distance to grab them

most people shield on reaction if you are close thinking you will short hop down-air, where its escapable because it isn't fast falled

it's also good underneath the hyrule green house because vision is blurred

if you hit their shield its a free grab

if they get hit by up-air you have free combos

it's fairly safe

obviously it's not the right choice against certain characters

but for most situations its good

needless to say I stole it from Isai

If you press down, then press B once, he does one hand slap. At low percents, it pops them up to the right height for a grab.
OOPS! :psycho:

What I meant by "DK's down+B to grab" was that if the opponent shields the down+b, you usually get a free grab, and I'm curious to know if it's a guaranteed grab that should be added to the list.

Dk doesn't have a lot of trouble grabbing in general lol

it was mainly for Link because a lot of players I see, both good and bad don't know about f-air, up-air or fast falled d-air giving you a free grab
