pretty simple really... my smash partner plays him and doc mains. I find it easiest to beat young link with some well spaced d tilts and knocking off his range with A(although you can learn to catch the bombs).

Well it's not that hard. Guard his projectiles, space well and keep your crouch cancelling up.
And you thought you wasn't going to get any help soon Alex. Hehe.
Basically all Young Link has against Roy is projectiles. Jab should smack away my Boomerang. Arrows ain't ****. Bombs are catchable. When you break down the projectile wall, I'll have to resort to my CQC. If I jump while approaching I'm basically going to try for a Nair because it's his best approaching aireal. When that happens just shield grab me out of that or at low percents crouch cancel F-smash. But on the off chance you're not quick enough right after the Nair is a D-smash. So as soon as the move connects C-Stick it. Your Dtilt is ******** and will catch anyone off gaurd if they don't know about it. Plus it sets up for fatal combos. Upon edgegaurding, don't be afraid to counter Young Link (Only if I don't sweet spot).

Your shield will frustrate Y.Link. Just shield ALL of his projectiles. Wavedash around in your shield. Look for opportunities to pivot grab him or CC dtilt if he approaches. Also, remember the power of the DED.
